is in aylesbury, bucks, so far about 30 people are on the invitation list, there are going to be invites. and there are going to be doormen (free of charge, they owe me a favour and have said that they would do it) so if the party peeps aint got their invite they cant come in. do u think this is wise?

Where are you, how many invited? Do not have a free bar - people will lose their drinks and get another without thinking about it , this will cost you a fortune. If some are too young to drinnk no doubt they'll sneak in their own anyway. Some pubs will give you room for freee if they take a certain amount of sales over the bar. May even provide food. Whatever you think you need for food, halve. Most will eat before, a third won't turn up of if do not until late. Get all your friends to give you photos of the birthday girl/boy from past years, scan these and make your own posters/banners. By loads of cheap balloons and get friends to help you blow up on day.. Don't waste money on helium too expensive just make sure some one can tie knots and you have ribbon to tie up.

Mail me with more info if you need more help

It's not fair that you have to do all this yourself especially not if you're pals decide to help out at the last minute so they can take some credit. Birthdays are really good for banners etc cos they have a Partyland bit. Go there and have a look at the prices. How much money you needs depends where you're having the party where it is etc. You should do your research, then split the cost between all your pals. If they have to cough up the money they are more likely to help out. Hope that helps...don't get walked over by them cos you don't deserve it x

Go down the pub simple!

This was my bfs mom and me trying to get his 21st bday cookout. What I did was I got about 2 big packs of hot dogs...ball park has 16 packs for 4 dollars apiece at walmart. October is usually a fairly warm month down here....you guys can bundle up and have a bonfire party at the lake....buy cheap bags of chips (helps to look at grocery papers to see whats on sale)....make homemade dip-for ranch get the ranch dip mix and mix it in one thing of sour cream and let it refrigerate an hr....and u got more dip for cheaper..tell them to bring a dessert or chips...but mostly tell them to bring their own beer....thats what we do.

first of all you arent allowed to drink booz at age 21. If u live in LA or something have it at a baseball game or something get togos or subway to cater or go to albertsons and get loads of fried chicken. or have a potluck and tell every body to bring something. this might be out of your budget but ive heard u can rent slurpee machines so thats an idea

order pizza or grill out(hot dogs are cheap but beef is high so hamburgers might be a no go), get a keg, make sure no parents around, big screen tv get movies(watching porn in a big group is normally interesting...lol), a stereo get music and crank the volume up, spin the bottle (kinda old school but still fun), Strip poker, 7 minutes in heaven, big slip-n-slide with whipped cream or jello instead of water(thats ALOT of funa nd its a cheap way to do stuff....if whipped cream and jello to high always can use water and 2 bags of dirt so it s a mud slide), pool?get noodles and beach balls, make sure the bedrooms are locked you don't want anybody doin the dirty in your bed or your parents bed, and make sure all breakables are put away, actually have someone else throw it for you at their house so you can have a good time and won't be stressing out about your house getting destoryed let others stress about that...lol
Hope this helps.

and let everyone know that you're thorwing it...tell your mates up front "look if you aint gonna put in your fair share then you aren't gonna steal my credit..got it?"

if you want good food, what you should do every week is just spend a day at the shops looking at al the offers. and then if you haven't goteverything you wanted you should try somewhere like lidl for quality fodat very cheap prices. andi feel really sorry for you not getting any help but i hope this helps. godo luck!!!

strippers and a keg and you will be the hero..

hi, sounds like ur from the uk so im guessin ur gona want to drink, but if ur friends bday is in october bet most of ur friends rnt 18 yet, so u dnt want to have it at a pub cuz they wnt get served, so ur best bet for a venue is someones house. Ask ur friends parents, if they saw no ask urs, if they saw no try a local welfare, ( u might have problems getting served but u dnt have to worry about buying everything bcuz ppl will have to buy theyre own drinks and i it costs £100 to hire out jus charge £2 a tickets, no one is gona worry about that.)

do a pot luck theme - you are a young man, and I certainly wouldn't expect you to foot the ball.

Tell your mates to get their fingers out! Tell them that you are NOT footing the bill for this adventure unless they put some dough into the pot for it. Actually tell them you wont do it at all unless they fork out some cash.
Are you thinking of something in town or going somewhere? Screw doing banners unless you can figure out how to do it on a computer or something, if you are tight on cash then put that money somewhere more needed.

Some people have been doing those corporate adventure type things for bachelor parties. why not do one too?

What part of October is it in? Maybe you could just make it fancy dress and tell everyone to bring a dish to pass, something besides beer and crisps and that helps with the food costs too.

find a local venue that does parties - golf clubs, hotels pubs with function rooms. most places that hire rooms will also have a DJ package and will probably offer some sort of buffet food (can sometimes be expensive) so if you find somewhere that does all of the above your half way there.
cost wise it depends on what you want and where you live. i live in the north east and as an estimate here you would be paying approx £150 for room hire and £125 for a DJ. some places may not charge for room hire if you have a buffet (prices start from £5 per person) most of these places have a bar so that's drinks sorted.

or

find a set of understanding parents with a large garden, get a couple of cheap gazebos and some folding tables. have one gazebo for loads of snack food and one with tables and chairs and a couple of plastic bins filled with ice and water for beer.

make sure you get some money off the others.

whatever happens have a great time x

Sounds like you're a nice person; not sure about your mates !!!! How about giving everyone a task; that way yoi share the responibility & if they don't do their fair share; it makes them look stupid. Don't do the food shopping till you've collected the money; & try iceland they do fantastic deals on food & drink. Good luck & if you're mates bail out on you; get some nicer more genuine ones. Good luck

At the end of the day, people only turn up to birthday bashes for the freebies, like the food and booze. They are not interested in placing any input into the organisation.

I would ditch your plans of getting skint and just go down the pub.
