The dad idea is cute!. You could also do a "family recipe" theme, where everyone brings in a secret family dish or traditional family dish!. It's especially fun to see all of the different cultural foods!. Or do a "kids food" theme- favorite foods from childhood!. You could also try doing a "family-made" dish theme, and ask that they bring whatever they wish, but cook it with their family or friends!. One of the great things about food is what surrounds it- family and friends, conversations and celebrations!.
also, if you want to go with an upbeat, fun theme, you could try doing a beach/Hawaii theme!. Pineapple pork, fire-roasted corn, etc!. And people could wear beach their beach garb, and you could give out those little flower necklaces!. A good way to celebrate the warm season!.

That's a cute idea, as long as the dads aren't doing the cooking:) !.!.!.!. How about a baseball theme!? We're right in the middle of baseball season!.!.!. You could get some pennants in the various MLB teams, or even whatever minor league is near you !.!.!.!. You can buy packages of red & white striped peanuts (like the ballfield peanuts); do hot dogs & sausages; nachos; frozen lemonade (Kroger has them in the ice cream section) !.!.!.!.!.!.
