Summer Vacation Party Ideas?!
My children, ages 10 (girl) and 13 (boy) are having a party after the last day of school for their friends and classmates, about 75-100 kids!. I'm not expecting everyone to come!. We're having hotdogs, chips and veggies with dip, and s'mores!. The party is scheduled for five hours, although it's on a Wednesday, so it will probably break up in about four!. I need some ideas for games or activities that are preferably free!. Any ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
You can have some games that both will like, like relay races!. You can do potato sack races, three legged races, the wheelbarrel races where one holds the other person's ankles and they race to the finish line!. You can do the egg on the spoon race, where you put the raw egg on the spoon and race to the finish line without dropping or breaking the egg!.
If you don't mind the kids getting wet, let them have some water balloon fights!. Then get an inflatable kiddie pool, fill it with water and do a tug of war, the losing team falls into the water!
Have a slip and slide and let them have fun on it!
Set up a volleyball and badmitten net, do some team sports!. Softball, kickball, etc!. That's something both the boys and girls can do!.
Set up some lawn chairs and towels with umbrellas for the kids that can't or don't want to play!.
For food I would do hamburgers and hot dogs and chips and snacks!. I would also have lemonade and iced tea along with the water, soda, etc!.
You can also set up an ice cream bar!. Go to Costco or Bjs or Sam's, get those big tubs of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream, and some toppings!. Sprinkles, whipped cream, cherries, and chocolate syrup!. Then get some paper bowls and let the kids make their own sundaes!.
I would definitely have some music!. Set up some speakers or a stereo system outside and let the kids pick the music!.
I wouldn't fill every hour with things to do, I'm sure the kids are going to want to do their own things and want some down time!. I would also ask your son and daughter what they would like to do and what things they would like to have and see what ideas they have!.
I hope some of these ideas help and that the kids have a great party!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
