You need to decide if you're shooting for the early 60's or the later 60's! If you go with the earlier years, then consider the Beach Boys, Motown, early Beatles, Stones, The English Beat bands such as Gerry and the Pacemakers, Freddy and the Dreamers etc!. Attire during those years were based upon the "surfing" music of the time, broad horizontally striped teeshirts, skintight jeans etc!. ood was still associated with the 50's and included lots of meat, casseroles with Campbells Soups, caesar salad, rich desserts!. Now, if you're looking at 1967 and on, you're entering the psychedelic age!. Think hippies, Woodstock, acid, Eastern philosophy and music (Ravi Shankar), the Doobie Brothers, Eagles, later Beatles, etc!. Attire would consist of love beads, long jean skirts, gauzy shirts, flowers in one's hair, face paint, jeans etc!. Food during that time was beginning to be "natural", more vegetarian, lots of fresh fruits, veges, homemade bread, alfalfa sprouts, lentils, fondue etc!. Games might include the limbo, a pinata, karaoke, a dance competition (think the twist, the jerk, the mashed potato, the surf, the hitchhiker, line dances)!. "I Want To Hold Your Hand" was a blast to dance to and we did a variety of dances to it! See if you can line up the old American Bandstand or Hullabaloo videos to check out the dances of the time!

my grandma helped me answer your question because she was around in the sixties!.

My grandma says they served this for breakfast in 1960!.

muesli - 4 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup toasted wheat germ
1/2 cup wheat bran
1/2 cup oat bran
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds

In a large mixing bowl combine oats, wheat germ, wheat bran, oat bran, dried fruit, nuts, sugar, and seeds!. Mix well!. Store muesli in an airtight container!. It keeps for 2 months at room temperature!.
