Vegetarian dinner guests?!

Question: Vegetarian dinner guests!?
This question has probably been asked before but,
Why do vegetarians (by choice not dietry needs) insist on a veggie meal when at your place, but are rude enough to insist you eat veggie when you're at their place!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Everyone has their reasons for choosing to be vegetarian!.
if they're veggies due to religious reasons then its fair to say they won't eat non-veg food if they're at your place, and they probably wont cook it at their own place!. hence you would have to eat it if you went!.

Some veggies chose to be veggies because they dont like the smell or they didn't like the taste of meat, or even maybe because they were against animal cruelty and that kind of thing!. if so, then i guess its understandable they wouldn't want to cook meat in their own house!.

I think if they're vegetarian by choice then its ruder to ask someone else to cook vegetarian food at their place than it is to expect other people to eat it at their own place!. After all their choice to become vegetarian is reason enough to not want to cook it in their own house!?

As a vegetarian, this was my view!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not a vegetarian, but certainly don't mind a meal without meat once in awhile! !.!.!. perhaps they don't want to even buy meat, or use the same pans & utensils to cook meat in that they'd use for their own meals!.!.!.!.!.Most vegetarians are also polite enough to eat the side dishes that you prepare, and just not eat the meat entree, when they're at your house!. Now, if they're vegans, that's a totally different issue, since alot of your side dishes may also include dairy!. But a vegan shouldn't expect a host to prepare special food for their strict diet!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Probably for the same reason I wont serve offal or tripe - I find it disgusting to handle!. They are disgusted by meat!.

I agree with previous person, most veggies are only to happy to bring their own food - at least they get something they know hasnt been stirred or served with the same utensil used for the meat!

In the same spirit you can offer to take your own meat if you want to and they will be happy to give you that!.

Living in a house with 1 veggie, one who wont eat red meat, one who is dairy intolerant and egg white allergic and one who doesnt like green vegetables I have learnt to create assembly meals with things in different dishes that are not cross-contaminated and everyone can help themselves to what they like/can eat at the table!. My aim is for there to be no drama at the table and ensure everyone gets some protein!. The house rules are that no one is allowed to have a go at anyone elses eating habits because even the most apparently perfect person turns out to have something food they cant abide!. eg My Dad who used to make me weep as he forced me to eat brussel sprouts hates onions!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should be more tolerant and respect peoples dietary requirements, you wouldn't give a coeliac food with wheat in it nor would you expect a Muslim /Jew to eat pork!. As for eating vegetarian food at 'their' place you don't have to go, no one forces you and if you are uneasy about cooking for them why do you invite them!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

They don't prepare meat items!. If you want meat, bring it already cooked!. You do prepare veggies along with meat dishes so having more veggies doesn't interfere!. Some vegetarians are also religious and can't cook meat in their pots and pans, so, bring your own!. Be polite and let them know you are bringing the meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you are invited by vegetarians then you know what to expect!. I don't think that's rude!. If you invite vegetarians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus to your house for a meal, then you would, hopefully, not present them with food which they could not eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you friends are good cook eating a vegetarian meal now and again shouldn't be a problem!. I wouldn't expect people that don't usually buy or cook meat to cook meat for me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

im a veggie and i dont
if people dont mind making a meal for me then its okay!.
if they dont want to cook a separate dish then i just say i dont mind and bring my ownWww@FoodAQ@Com

im an veggie so shut up!
you should respect some people that don't eat meat!Www@FoodAQ@Com
