In the Philippines, the girl chooses her close friends to join the Cotillion de Honor. The debutant usually has a partner. This is usually a waltz dance. After the group dance, the father and the daughter also dances. The partners of her friends later dance with the debutant and give her a rose. Later, the celebrant and friends usually changes attire, that is from formal to the lattest. They usually dance modern later in the night.
In some cases, it is not only dancing. There is a program which is participated in by some friends and relatives. Some close friends of the debutant talk about their friend. There are also the 18 candles, somebody are assigned to light the candles of the cake.
Usually somebody goes around to have the guest book signed. Later on, a souvenir is given to all who attended.
The program depends on the budget. It might be simple or elegant! Some are held in the houses others in the hotels.
