How many bottles of wine would you need to give 27 adults 2 glasses each?!

Question:

How many bottles of wine would you need to give 27 adults 2 glasses each?

I am throwing a childrens party this summer but thought it would be nice to give the adults there some wine. How many bottles would I need to buy to give 27 adults 2 glasses each? I am on a tight budget. Also any other general party planning hints would be much appreciated!

Answers:
14. There are about 4 glasses per each 750ml bottle.

bout 10 to 15 bottles would do

a lot you get about 3 gd glasses out of 1 bottle

How big are the glasses? I used to work in a pub and we'd get between 6 - 8 small glasses or 4 big glasses from a bottle (not exactly measured)

54... I use big glasses...

13 to 15 bottles

you get around 4-5 glasses per bottle, and so you would need maybe 9 bottles to be on the safe side? How about mixing it with sparkling water/soda water though and serving it is taller glasses with ice? That can be nice if it's sunny outside, and you won't have to worry about getting really nice wine then!
I think places like Oddbins can hire you glasses too.

about 18 bottles!

Moderate sized glasses, a case of 12 bottles should do the trick.

A glass is 1 dl (about 3 oz), but most wine glasses hold 2 to 4 dl (6 to 12 oz). So rule 1: make sure you know how much you are pouring.

Then, plan on a serving of 6 ounces each, that means 27*2dl= 54 dl. each bottle contains 7.5 dl, so 8 bottle should be enough with a couple of glasses extra.

Double this if you want 2 servings per person.

You should have enough with 12 or 14 bottles - not everybody will take 2 glasses.... consider that normally, one plans on a 1 drink per hour rate, so you should keep in mind how long you want the party to last.

how big are the glasses?

18 bottles sir but dont be so mean go to b and m bargains and get more for your money.

A bottle of wine is about 4 glasses, so based on that:

27 adults x 2 glasses of wine = 54 total glasses

54 total glasses/4 glasses (per bottle of wine) = 13.5

To be safe I would go for 15. By the way, you can get quite good wine that is inexpensive. Inexpensive wine doesn't have to be cheap wine if you get my meaning.
Go to a local wine store (or outlet if you have it) and ask the staff to help you. I do a little research each time I shop, I find good wines for around $9 or $10 a bottle, just work a little first.

Here's a link to a local wine shop I go to, do a search on the type of wine you'd like and then filter by price...there are reviews and ratings so you can find something that sounds promising.

Good luck and enjoy the party!

it all depends on the amount of wine your pouring. get a empty bottle first and pour and count that way you won't waist money or over spend.

14 bottles, there are 4 glasses per bottle.

You would be cheaper getting a few boxes of wine. Also remember when you think its finished its not, rip open the box and you get about another 2 glasses from the silver pouch inside.

I'd say around 24 bottles but it does depend on the size of the glasses.

18 bottles, just to play it safe. tf

i would say 14,roughly 4 glasses in a bottle, but would go for 15 to be on the safe side?

I would say about 18 bottles or three cases. Please bear in mind that people may not want to drink because they may not like wine, or have to drive, or they prefer to be sober when the children are awake!!

each bottle = 5 glasses of wine

27 peole x 2 glasses each = 54 glasses

54 divided by 5 = 11 bottles

Now, to save money, buy the wine in bulk and decant it yourself into carafes. This will allow you to be a bit more heavy-handed in pouring, or at least buy it cheaper than buying by the individual bottle.

My glass is a one gallon milk jug. I would like 2 please.

15 Bottles of wine should do it

Depending on the size of the glass - get some of the budget wine glasses at Tesco - that way you should get away with 12 bottles. You get a discount for every 6 bottles bought in Tesco plus they have some good wines half price so you can get a decent bottle for £3.50. £50 should cover the glasses and wine.

I would say 8 bottles of wine, why not ask them to bring a bottle as well ?

I would say at least 14 bottles, but it also depends on the size of the glasses people are pouring themselves. You can make it go a little farther and make it fancier by making a white sangria. I have done this before and it goes over really well.

Buy one of those cheap boxes of white wine and a small bottle of peach schnapps. Get both as cold as you can. The night before the party mix the whole box of white wine, the bottle of schnapps, 1 cup of simple syrup (1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water heated gently in a pan until the sugar is dissolved), and two bags of frozen peaches. Buy a few extra bags of frozen peachs to use as ice cubes. Top the cup off with clear peach soda or peach flavored soda water. Some people like to add rasberries, but I don't like the seeds at the bottom of my cup. You can do this for less than 50, and have plenty for everyone.

18 to 20 bottles if you can get three glasses out of the bottle

you get about 3 1/2 to 4 glasses of wine per bottle i would say about 14 or 15 bottles of wine if you have smaller wine glasses the wine would streatch farther and not everyone would want to drink so you are probably safe with 10 to 12 bottles (which would save you money) because like you said the party is for the children and most parents don't expect to drink at a childrens party. good luck have fun at the party !

Depends on the size of the glass...
we have massive wine goblets and you can maybe get two glasses each out of a bottle for two people. but that could get expensive. So if you can't afford that use the standard wine glass size, then you'd get more people around one bottle, about 4 maybe. but i'd not give them too much, because then their focus goes off the kids and on to the wine and then you'd have to have something to go with it.

9 bottles.....6 glasses in a standard bottle
