"Green Fifteen" Birthday Party Ideas?!

Question:

"Green Fifteen" Birthday Party Ideas?

My birthday party is going to be in about two weeks or so, and the theme is going to be the color green, hence the name "Green Fifteen." I'm looking for a few ideas: green foods for a buffet table, creative decorations, and maybe some creative things to put in a little gift bag. Share any ideas you have. FYI, it's going to be a co-ed party.

Oh, in case you couldn't tell, I'm turning 15. The party will be in the evening in my basement.

And this won't necessarily be about environmental conservation. Just the COLOR green.

What a great idea! Here's some helpful hints:
1. Salad bar with different kinds of greens.
2. Baked potato bar with steamed broccoli being one of the
options.
3. Green pasta. It is usually a spinach fetticini. You cook it
according to package directions. Then stir fry your own add
ins such as zucchini, green peppers, chicken, then add
bottled fetticini alfredo sauce.(can be found by the Ragu spaghetti sauce in the market.)Toss together. Put in a crockpot to keep warm during the party.
4. Here's a favorite that I think teenagers would like. It's called Watergate Salad. (the recipe came out when Nixon was president)
1 pkg.(4 ounce) pistachio pudding
1 cup miniature marshmellows
1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (if you like nuts)
1 tub (8 ounce) Cool Whip
Mix all together except the Cool Whip. Stir in the Cool Whip.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
5. You can use lime jello to make lots of green salads. Here's an easy, yummy one.
1 small pkg. lime jello
1 small can ( 8 ounce)pinepple, drained or fruit cocktail
1 tub (16 ounce)cottage cheese
1 tub (8 ounce) Cool Whip.
Mix the jello powder, drained fruit and the cottage cheese. Gently stir in the cool whip. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
6. For games, you could have a green scavenger hunt. Teams of two go to neighbors and ask for green items. See who can get the most in a half hour. Be sure to have parents permission for this one, and never go inside anyone's house.
7. Game - let everyone list as many green items as possible.
8. Game- have everyone list as many words or phrases with the word green in it. Examples, green tea, greens fee, green light. There are many of them. A variation of this game is for you to make a list ahead of time. Then write down questions for each item. Such as What is a healthy tea? Then have two teams, ask a question to the first team. If they get it right,
they get a point. If not, the question goes to team 2.
9. Game -Put about 25 green items on a tray - green crayon, green bean, green tea, green grass (for examples) Let everyone look at the tray for about 2 minutes. Then cover it and have everyone try to remember what was on the tray.
10. How many shades of green are there? Get in groups of two or three and see which group can come up with the most.
Sage green, kelly green, lime green, etc.
11. Prizes should be Greenbacks. That is Money!! give a dollar bill for the game prize. Or 3 dollars for first place, 2 for second and 1 for third.
12.Game - get green play doh and see who can make the cutest thing with it. Could have categories. Funniest scupture, most unique, most likely to be famous sculpture, etc.
13. Green Gunk - If you can find this in the stores, the boys will love it! The girls witll say Yuck!
14. Have everyone dress in green clothes.
15. This is an unselfish idea. But think about it. Ask for a green tree for your birthday. Then have everyone go help you plant it in your town. ( you could check with your school, mayor or city council or local garden club) This tree will grow and you will never forget your 15th Green Birthday. Someday you can take your grandkids there. What a happy memory1
It will last longer than an ipod or new outfit, and do a lot of good for the community. You could end your party with the tree-planting.

I've never answered a question like this online, but I love green, too! My wedding was mint green. My cake was supposed to be frosted pure white and then marbled with green mint. But the bakery got it wrong and it was frosted in mint green. So I had a green wedding cake!

4.

try vegetables...theyre green!!!

OKAY THERE ARE THESE LIGHT THAT ARE GREEN I DONT KNOW THE SPECIFC PLACE TO GET THEM BUT THEY ARE REALLY COOL I MEAN YOU SHOULD LOOK IT UP THERE AWSOME

a garden party! green... garden... get where im coming from!?! plus you can do green coctails (green apple) nd green foods (celery, spinach and broccalli) heehee. If you prefer sweet then green apples and green sweets will be good! =D x

hey, try hawaiian. It always works out. Tropical is always the key. People love just chillin out and havin a good time paradise style. Tropical fruit, smoothies, pina coladas, a cabana boy =] it all fits.

find a local plant / tree nursery:

do something symbolic like plant trees at your local park, ride your bikes there and have fun.

Great green punch: Mix 1 2-quart bottle of 7-Up/Sprite with an envelope of Lime Kool-Aid, and a half-quart of soft lime sherbert (obviously you can increase the amounts depending on size of your party) in a punch bowl. Allow enough time before the party for the sherbert to melt. This creates a yummy, frothy punch that everyone will love.

Tasty green salad: Broccoli Salad

? 4 cups small broccoli florets (about 1-1/2 pounds)
? 1-1/2 cups seedless green grapes, halved
? 1 cup chopped celery
? 1 cup raisins
? ? cup salted sunflower seed kernels
? 1/3 cup light mayonnaise
? ? cup plain fat-free yogurt
? 3 tbsp sugar
? 1 tbsp white vinegar

1. Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Combine mayonnaise and remaining ingredients, stirring with a whisk. Pour dressing over broccoli mixture, and toss well. Chill for 1 hour. Yield: 9 servings (serving size: about 1 cup).

Dessert: Drizzle creme de menthe syrup over your ice cream
Happy Birthday

Gift bag ideas..hemp necklace's or ankle bracelets, organic lip balm. Use soy candles for your cake, and use organic eggs and flour for your cake.

1. Tell everyone to wear only green things...but you wear white so you'll stand out.
2. Make non-alcoholic green margaritas.
3. Make a stack of cupcakes iced in green instead of a cake.
4. Use hollowed-out green peppers to put dips in for chips.
5. Cut a lime in half, scoop out the guts (put them in the margaritas!) then use the empty lime halves to put green jello into. When the jello is 'done' cut the limes into quarters or slices. You might practice this one first!
6. Gift bag idea: green flip-flops, green m&ms with your name and birthday on them, green candle votives...
7. Make a CD with 'green' songs: songs that have green in the title, or songs by Greenday, etc.
8. Wear a tiara and sash that says "MISS GREENLAND"
9. A game idea: make signs for people to wear on their back that are different green things. The trick is that people have to guess what is on their back. You could have a frog, a Green Bay Packer football player, spinach, Rachel Green (from Friends!), cucumbers, green eggs and ham, pickles, alligators...
10. Use a piece of astroturf as a tablecloth (cheesy idea!) or put pots of green grass as a centerpiece (nice idea) on a green plaid tablecloth
11. Serve spinach dip, quacamole, celery sticks, mints, green sherbet ice cream and fried green tomatoes
12. Use green paint chips folded in half as place cards
13. For invitations, use a picture of Kermit the frog saying "It's easy being green"

Email me if you need more ideas!
