I need food ideas for a joint baby shower???!

Question:

I need food ideas for a joint baby shower???

My boyfriend and I are having a joint baby shower for our family and friends. We plan to serve food and drinks but we don't want to go overboard or not have enough. So far we came up with fajitas, or hot dogs and hamburgers. Any better suggestions?

Quick recipes

SWEDISH MEATBALLS
Mix medium onion chopped with 2 lbs ground chuck or beef. Form into meatballs....brown in skillet in oil.......Mix one large grape JELLY and one large bottle chili sauce.....Mix well and pour into crockpot.....add meatballs and simmer for 4 hours.

FRUIT TRAY
Pineapple bits, grapes, strawberries.....Mix one block 8 oz cream cheese with one large jar marshmellow whip.....place this in bowl on a platter and place fruit around it....

MINIDOGS
Buy pack of cocktail weiners and one can crescent rolls......roll out each square roll and cut square in half.....place cocktail weiner (with or with a piece of cheese) in roll.......bake according to instructions on crescnet roll pack

MINIBURGERS
Buy a pack of rolls in bread section.....form small patties from meat and cook....place in bun
With the above two, dogs and burgers, use empty baby food jars for catsup, relish, mustard, etc.

PUNCH
easy....1 large tub softened vanilla ice cream
2 liter minute maid strawberry soda
1 pack frozen crushed strawberries
Mix all in order in punch bowl
If you are serving alcohol for the guys, such as bottled or canned beer, you could use a washtub filled with ice for those

DECORATIONS
Rubber ducks
Balloons with helium and use pacifiers to hold them down

Best of luck and God bless you and your precious bundle of joy!

Pasta salad, and maybe meat balls with little sub rolls. Cost effective and feeds alot!

depends on how many family members are coming but fajitas could get a little pricey I really think hot dogs and hamburgers would be awesome and cheaper.

You can serve sandwich, i leave a link for you to check out, good luck:

um, munchy food- such as chips and dip, pickle wraps, tortilla wraps, veggie tray, fruit tray, meatballs, maybe some cocktail shrimp, a fruit salad, snicker salad, cheesy potatoes,
any of those little munchy food dishes work, and then you can have brats, burgers or hot dogs as a filler.... you can always make a big bowl of punch too- punch is cheap and really easy to make in large quantities so you don't have to go and buy a lot pop or anything....

is this lunch or dinner? because a shower usually has gift opening and baby games, you might be better off with cold foods for lunch. this way you don't have to worry about cooking and serving. finger sandwiches, sandwich wraps, fresh fruit, fresh veggies & dip, crackers & cheese. you can create a nice atmosphere with these types of platters or appetizers all on one table. put out all of the "picking items" as soon as guests arrive and once everyone is there, bring out sandwiches and salads as the "entree" but don't remove any food as time goes on.

Mini everything - mini burgers, mini dogs, since it is a baby shower, check the walmart or sams frozen appetizer and food section. sandwiches cut into 4 on the diagonal, bite size candy bars, bite size chips, little sodas which they have in 8oz cans, etc

To add to the idea of fajitas, add some nachos and dip, a chick pea salad and chilli. I don't think you'll need anything after that.

grillied shrimp salad

Fajitas would be great! You can set out the tortillas and dressings for the fajitas, and let everyone serve up their own buffet-style. Then they can make it how they like it. Hot dogs and hamburgers usually take time to grill, especially if you have a large number of people, and condiments can get kind of messy. Cook a large amount of meat for the fajitas beforehand, then you can warm it up bit by bit at the party. Serve the other things (grated cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, etc.) in bowls. Those can be prepared in advance too. Serve chips and salsa pn the side, and have fun!

pigs in the blanket

Try having a taco bar.Ground meat,cheese,lettuce,tomatoes,j... list is endless. That way if you have salad stuff out for vegetarians and lite eaters and heavy for the guys.It is easy and cheap to put together.plus all the slicing and bagging can be done ahead of time.just have your crock pots ready....

Sweet and Sour meatballs
-bag of premade frozen meatballs
-jar sweet and sour sauce
-jar hoisin sauce
-can pineapple tidbits (drain half the juice from can)

Cook meatballs. Add sauces and pineapples. Heat. That's it and people will be trying to figure out what in the world did you do to the meatballs

Cold cut and cheese platter with crackers. Fruit salad and that's all you would need for the food. Vegetable tray if you want.Make a punch with sherbet ice cream and ginger ale. Cold, bottled water for those that don't want the punch. That's all you will need.
