How far ahead of time can I chocolate dip the strawberries?!

Question:

How far ahead of time can I chocolate dip the strawberries?

I need them for tomorrow evening, and would like to get a head start. Will they still be good if I do them today?

Answers:
they'll be just fine. make sure they're well refrigerated so there isn't a ton of condensation on them- i would peek in on them every so often to make sure, and adjust temp. as needed.

also- they'll be lovely and chilly if you serve them right out of the fridge.

The day before's good. Put them on waxed paper, cover and refridgerate them. Then send some to me cause i'm addicted to them!! Yumm!!

a day before on a baking sheet and wax paper

You can dip them now and refrigerate till a couple of hours before the event. This way you will save time and not be so worked up during the event.

Well, if you have just bought the strawberries so they are very fresh, and have just melted the chocolate, it should be fine.
Dip them tonight, them be sure to cover them well with plastic wrap or gently put them in a container. Basically, protect and cover them for the time being. Then put them in the refrigerator, or else the strawberries will rot. Pull them out tomorrow night, unwrap them, and they should be fine.

three days, and keep refrigerated

yes they day before is ok. i wouldn't do it anymore than that they tend to get all watery and kinda icky if u wait any longer to serve them.

As long as your berries are very fresh, dipping the night before is fine.

Check the berries carefully before dipping ... if there is a small blemish, you can cut it away and then dip the berry, letting the cut spot rest on the bottom.

For pretty garnish try:
1. setting a mint leaf in the chocolate before it hardens
2. drizzling white or dark chocolate over the dipped berries
for a pretty design.
3. dipping berries in almond slivers before the chocolate sets

Store them in the fridge on a baking sheet covered with waxed paper.

As long as you keep them in the fridge, they should be okay.

*All the suggestions were good... Just remember to throughly dry your strawberries before you dip them... Or the chocolate will seize and look gross... Have fun and good luck.
