How do i plan a romantic picnic for 2?!

Question:

How do i plan a romantic picnic for 2?

I want to plan a nice picnic for me and my boyfriend. Nothing special just wanted to do something nice. He LOVES meat and hates fish, he is a very "manly man" who is happy with nachos and burritos but i want to do something different, nothin too fancy. I dont want to make sandwiches, but i do need something easy to transport. I can cook pretty well, just never cooked for a picnic. Any ideas on what to make? any romantic ideas for the set up or anything you can suggest would be great.

oh yes and im working on a budget!
thanks

Answers:
fried chicken,grapes,cheese chunks,wine,a blanket,a very secluded place,,good luck.

Roast beef sandwiches with arugula on crusty rolls is divine and easy to make!
Do some steamed and chilled asparagus...wrap it in prosciutto if you want to fancy it up a little...or just squeeze a little fresh lemon juice with S&P on it.
Or a cold broccoli salad is nice, too.
Take along some cheese and sausage for appetizers, and some fresh fruit for dessert!
Be sure to pack a bottle of wine and 2 nice glasses (or plastic wine glasses if you're afraid of the glass breaking), a nice picnic blanket, some linen napkins, a candle...that would all be really sweet!

How about checking out the deli at the grocery store? They have all kinds of good salads, and different kinds of portable foods that could appeal to anyone! You could buy a loaf of nice bread, a bottle of wine, a reasonably priced dessert from the bakery, and maybe some deli salads or fried chicken!
This is such a nice idea! I hope it works out well!!

Picnic on the beach it is nice weather right now, make burritos super size and cut them 1 inc wide and place them nicely and make his favorite drink chilled, like this but make it your own http://www.turtlefiji.com/romance/picnic...

Well, I don't know where you are located, and I don't know if you are over 21 and can buy alcohol.

Here's what I did with my wife for an example.

I went to a nice market that has specialty meats and cheeses. I got a selection of sliced meats, such as imported salami, etc. These meats are expensive by the pound, and I do realize that you are on a budget, but you need only to by an 8th of a pound each or so. I selected three to four nice meats. I then went to the cheese section. There were hundreds of cheeses to chose from, but they do let you sample them. I selected three nice cheeses. Then I got some nice bread, and some crackers. Also, a pate like Fois Gras goes well with all this, or a nice jar of olive topenade.

We went to a vineyard where they allowed you to go wine tasting and to bring a picnic. I packed the picnic, and took my wife there. We tasted wines, and selected a bottle we liked and that went well with the picnic. I laid out the meats and cheeses, and we ate them, along with the wine. It was romantic and great.

I agree with Gina .Deli is great. If it is to expensive just get the cooked chicken there and make a pasta or patato salad. You can get two nice items from the bakery...Make sure you have a nice comfy blanket and a bottle of sparking juice is a great item for your basket. If he is quiet and romantic bring a candle. if he likes to play you might bring a frisbee or a ball to toss around. Have fun.

Ok BooBoo,
Lets see... I think your idea of something nice involves something special... So here we go.....
I have had my fair share of these type outtings.... Lets take a few tips from our friends across the "great pond" ;-)
Take a cue from the French, and bring along a fresh baked baguette with some brie and grapes. Create a Mediterranean feast with tomato & basil bruschetta, tortellini salad and calamata olive spread with crackers or pita. Or, just drop by your local grocery store and pick up a loaf of French bread, some cheese, a rotisserie chicken and a cool bottle of white wine. You could even call your favorite restaurant and order your favorite meals to go. Choose something that will have minimal last-minute preparation and clean-up; you want to focus on having your sumptuous meal while sipping a glass of wine or champagne and, above all, relaxing. Along with food and beverages, make sure you remember other essential picnic items that should be included.
The most romantic part of a picnic is often the element of surprise! Show up at his door with a single rose, or pick him up after a long day at work with your picnic packed and ready to go in the car. You could pack your basket and place it at your chosen location before picking up your date, and surprise them by pulling over and ‘finding’ the basket. Leave a beautiful invitation to have a special evening together at his home or work, not telling him what’s in store.
