What food/snacks should I serve at my 4-year-old's birthday party?!

Question:

What food/snacks should I serve at my 4-year-old's birthday party?

Answers:
Instead of a cake, try undecorated cupcakes. Put out frosting in different colors and/or flavors - i.e. yellow and green or chocolate and strawberry (you can get vanilla or white frosting and add food coloring and/or extracts yourself to make what ever colors and/or flavors you want). Add some topping - i.e. candies, sprinkles, fruit, nuts (watch out for allergies) or anything that might be fun . Then let the children frost and decorate their cupcake. Young children can do this and older children will also have fun (even the adults!). This can take a while so plan as an activity at the party (I once saw a 3 year old spend 45 min decorating her cup cake). Just let them have fun and then they can eat their creation. Have Fun!

Cookies and milk ought to do it nicely.

Make some sandwiches and get a cookie cutter you like and make shaped sandwiches. Go with pretzels instead of chips less crumbs and healthier too.

i am having the same problem! my daughter's first b day is in Sept. and i dont know what to serve... i am thinking some sort of pasta dish.. potato salad, am either doing sliced beef sandwiches or baked chicken....lots of fresh veggies, trying to keep it not so much as a sit down but easy food to eat.. good luck to you and Happy birthday to your little one!

Ok I have an idea for the desert part. My mom made this for me when I was little and I loved them. You take the regular kids colored ice cream cones and put cake batter in them and bake it then out frosting and sprinkles on top. There really good and fun for kids. I think if you look at the box of cake or cones it tells you exactley how to do it. Also if there's not too many kids you could go to like a dollar store and get some cute cups with lids and each kid could have there own cup to drink out of with there name on it. I don't know other then that just think of whatever thy eat that isn't too sticky staining or messy and make it in smaller bite size pieces.

Hope this helped a little

My 2 suggestions are:

1. What finger foods does your son like? What ever he likes, his guests are most likely to enjoy.

2. Call the parents of the other 4 year old guests and ask what finger foods they like.

This should give you several options to choose from and by asking the other parents, you may find someone offering to fix a dish of their child's favorite and that would save you a little time, money and stress. Sylvia

Serve Sandwiches ,Cutlets with different shapes, cookies, chips(potato or finger),sweets dish, chocolate, cold drinks, noodles, pizza and very healthy soups. It's their party let them enjoy.Don't forget balloons, party caps, return gift.

I recently went to my nieces B-day party. The Mom had made peanut butter & jelly sandwiches then she cut them in shapes with a cookie cutter (her's were shaped like little dresses & cowboy boots for the boys). All the kids loved them. And they had pretzels, baby carrots with ranch dip, chicken nuggets.
They also had a small petting zoo brought to the yard. That really made the kids happy. Have fun.

at my daughters party i served sandwhiches lunchmeat, cheese chips and cake with hawaiian punch. i had goody bags with candy and of course the cake ;D

if u take my opinion u should serve galsses of juicy strawbery squash or some other and dont go for milk as kids dont like it and u may give pizzas and browney with strawberry toppins and hot chocklet and spray some cream over it u can also give chips and buttered corn they generally seem 2 like it u can give chocklet shake with ice gratted and for desert the kidos preffer chocklet ice cream hey and wish ur son /daughter happy birthday from me have fun
