I am having a dinner party tonight and I have no idea what to serve?!

Question:

I am having a dinner party tonight and I have no idea what to serve?

There will be 50 people and all of them are new to myself and eachother. So what is good to serve when you dont know everyones tastes and likes?

Answers:
If you're having a dinner party for 50 people tonight, and you still haven't even decided what to serve, then you are really behind. You should have bought and started marinating some meat/vegetables a day or two ago.
Anyways,
* bbq is a good idea if the weather permits, you can do simple burgers with all the fixing, get some mushrooms and saute them, slice up an avocado, and buy a variety of cheeses to add a little gourmet feel to the burgers.
* Buy a couple of rotisserie chickens from the grocery store, slice the meat off the bone and serve with warm tortillas and sour cream, cheese, pico de gallo, etc. Serve with burgers so people have a choice.
* Pineapple, red green and yellow bell pepper, and onions are great on the grill, with a little balsamic vinegar on top. *Buy a bunch of potatoes and a few packets of Lipton onion soup mix and follow the directions for roasted potatoes on the back of the package.
* Buy lots of fruit, cut it up and serve it on a platter with some dips;
* Get some veggies like broccolli, radishes, etc and serve with dips;
* Buy breads and cheeses, not white loaf bread, but sourdough, french, etc, cube them up and serve with cheeses;
* Buy some flat bread, like pitas or mini pizza doughs, then get a variety of toppings and have everybody make their own pizzas on the grill. Make sure you cover the grill with aluminum foil so toppings don't end up in the fire.

Hope this helps! You should get to the store quick! You have a lot of prep work to do with the food before the party, 50 people to serve is a lot of work!

is this informal? you can grill a variety of meats such as pork chops, chicken, sausage, and beef/ribs. potato salad, baked beans etc.

formal or semi-formal? again grill or bake a variety of meats. make two green vegetables, spinach madeline and asparagus. two fruits, pear dish and an apple cobbler.
brown rice (finely chop and fold your sausage in your brown rice).

That's a large amount of people for dinner, You should call a caters. otherwise you'll be going nuts.

Hotdogs and hamburgers.

ribs beans slaw potatoes salad

Just grill up lots of different meats and have some veggies for the weird people who dont eat meat.

ok very nice thing you can take the very nice thing that you like and ser the people very nicely

first you should respect them like this good evenig uncle/aunty.have very pleasant evening welcome to our party.What you want to take cooldrinks or icecreams its your wish. you should bring it and give them by telling here is your chat have a nice eat. then while dinner you should ask them what they want and give them after that you should only go near them and serve the food items with very kind heart. you should impress them by serving they should tell your owner that she is very nice she is good in serving she is the best server. Again what you will be the leader of that evening.

Are you nuts? Well, I believe you should cater. But if you don't I would keep it as casual as you can for your own piece of mind.

1. Buy a large deli platter. It generally will come with all the condiments you need. Then just pick up some fresh rolls from the bakery. Fresh rolls always make a sandwich taste a little better. Have chips on the side.
2. Make a large pan of ziti that is like lasagna. It's a lot easier to mix ziti, than to layer lasagna. 2 boxes of ziti noodles, 2 jars of sauce, 1 large container of ricotta cheese, 2 large bags of mozz. cheese, and 1 lb. sweet italian sausage. Broil or grill the sausage while its whole, then cut into 1/2" discs. Once you cook the pasta toss it in 1 jar of the sauce. It will seem dry but that's okay. Then begin layering the ziti the way you would with lasagna, only putting sausage on half of the pan. Bake it in the oven on 350 for about 40 minutes. Serve with a tossed salad. Keep it easy and buy the greens that are in the bag, tomatoes, and cukes only. If you want to put a dish of croutons on the side. Get one vinegarette, one light vinegarette and one ranch dressing.
3. Baked or bbq bone in chicken. Boneless chicken gets too dry and you won't be able to reheat if necessary. If you do this cut the chicken breast in half before you cook them. Most people can't or won't eat a whole chicken breast. Serve this with a rice salad. It's a lot easier than potatoe!There are a ton of recipes out there, I like red peppers, red onions, olives and feta cheese in mine. Toss with vinegarette. If you want to really brighten it up add some fresh chopped oregano.
4. Easy appetizers. Cheese, crackers & pepperoni tray and a veggie tray. You can either make or buy. Buying will of course be more expensive, but easier. One easy homemade appetizer that I make is 2 boxes of cream cheese topped with 1 jar of salsa. Smear the cream cheese in the bottom of a glass baking dish, it fits well in a pie dish. Pop it in the oven on 350 for about 7 - 10 minutes. Don't let it get hot, just warm. Serve with tortilla chips. I know it sounds nasty, but everyone loves it.
5. Don't forget the drinks. Soda, bottled water, beer (1 case domestic & 1 imported), and three magnums of wine (1 red, 2 whites).
6. And lot's of throw away dishes!

get the phone and call in an order somewhere
