Make 3 square cakes. Use 1 of them for the middle and for the 2 others, cut off the left and right corners (from about the middle of the cake up to a point) to make it look like it has a point on one side. Put the 2 pointed cakes to each end of the middle square cake and ice it!

just be creative..get your artistics sides running :) Build a cake that is too pretty to cut . put something like '' congrats you surfed all the way to your last year'' ...and build a cake shaping a surf board with hawaiien flowers or something..

Maybe bake the cake in a 9x13" pan and trim the corners into a surfboard shape? Ice it in nice bright colours and of course put a stripe down the middle. Maybe display it on a cake board covered in blue plastic.. if you wanted to get really creative, perhaps you could make little paper "waves", or even sprinkle a few Gummie fish around it... *shrug* :)

The easy wat would be to have a mold of a surfboard. If you don't have a mold, you will need to bake a regular cake, and when it is done, and cooled, cut it to the shape of a surfboard, and frost it. You can get creative, and use the cut off pieces for other things, maybe make a big wave out of the cake, byt cutting it, and layering the cut pieces to the shape of a killer wave, and find a small plastic surfer to "ride" the wave. Use your imagination. With enough cake, and plenty of frosting, you can make any kind of cake you can think of.

Good luck.

Stevo.

A big sheet cake trimmed in the shape of a surfboard would be the easiest.
