What cities are known for thier food?!

Question:

What cities are known for thier food?

When you think of the United states, many cities bring to mind a certain food, perhaps Barbeque in Kansas City, or Bratwurst in Green Bay. What other examples of city-food relationships are there? In particular I'm interested in smaller cities / towns rather than metropolitan areas, places that might make a good weekend trip. (Although, I am interested in cities throughought the US.)

Comes in plain, chocolate, cherry, maple, cinnamon & sugar.

I tried to be friends with this guy's daughter just so I could find out how they make them - and she said he hasn't even told her! If you get there by 6:00 - they are so hot they burn your mouth - but you don't care - they are so awesome!!!

San Francisco is absolute heaven for leading edge culinary fusion afficionados. We have the winning combination of the wine industry, two major nationally-known culinary academies, great access to imports, and tons of fresh local organic produce and other ingredients here in the Bay Area. Put that together with a large urban population with a rather sophisticated and hedonistic upper class professional lifestyle, and the perfect climate to attract and retain the very best celebrity chefs, and you get an explosion of creative new restaurants, over 6,700 in the city at last count.

You will never get bored dining out in San Francisco. I promise.
