If you don't have air conditioning and can't just invite everyone into the house, maybe you should host the BBQ at the beach!. Or ask a friend with a pool to help you host one at the his/her house!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There was an article in the paper about this only today!. Its recommendations:

Tell your guests to bring swimwear and a towel!. Provide a room for changing (one room per gender if you can) and plastic grocery bags for wet stuff!.

Set up multiple food stations so people won't have to cluster at a single table!. Keep cold foods on ice!. Cook meats to order!.

Provide shade!. If your trees aren't enough, you can knot the corners of sheets and tie with twine, suspending several sheets between trees!. Or rent a tent or other shade maker!.

Make sure there are enough chairs for everyone to sit!. Rent or borrow lawn chairs, or ask guests to bring them!.

Have lighting!. If it involves a flame, position it carefully!.

Have insect-repellent products on hand, well away from food!.

Have a fallback area for any guests who simply can't take the heat, like spare seating in your dining room!.

Find sturdy paper plates so your guests can walk around holding food!. If possible, put many finger foods on your menu!.

Assume people will abandon beverage cups, or not be able to tell them apart!. Have at least two cups for each guest!.

Buy or borrow kiddie wading pools!. Use one to ice beverages (make sure there's plenty that's non-alcoholic, and include some bottled water), and let the guests stand or sit in two or three others!.

Consider children's outdoor games and toys, especially any that involve the hose!. Slip 'n Slide!? Bubble stuff!? Croquet!? Frisbee!? Squirt guns!?

Set up a lawn sprinkler where there's good drainage and let anyone who cares to walk right through it!.

Consider adult party games like Charades, too!.

Borrow a couple of boom boxes and set them to the same rock radio station, for those guests who hear!.

Scatter tables among the chairs, so people can set down food or drink to talk with their hands!.

Have a great time!Www@FoodAQ@Com
