I want to be a cake decorator. but i don't know where to start. i've researched schools..but that's it..help!

Find a succesfull cake decorator and ask for advice and how he/she got into the business!.
Maybe if you're lucky you could ask for a summer job or internship or other, that would be a great headstart and look great on your CV!.

Go to Wilton!.com They have all kinds of stuff there to start you off such as: books, videos, tapes, equipment, gadgets, spatulas, cake pans, etc for all of your cake decorating needs!. I think they offer classes in their area so check them out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I say first check out Michael's decorating class's they have monthly!. If that's too basic for you cause you're just that good!.!.!.then start by asking friends to make cakes for their birthday parties!. All great business's started small once too!
