Well, I would suggest going "Summer Bash" all the way! Tropical Smoothies with or without alcohol, with lots of fresh fruit, crushed ice, sorbets, pitchers of homemade lemonaid and Iced Tea, garnished with Fresh Mint and Citrus all around!. A large bowl of Salad Greens with a mini topping bar goes along way to satisfy a large crowd! Grill everything from meats to fish and vegetables in large doses and set them on large platters so everyone can pick and choose their favs! Roasted Red Skins sounds good to me with fish and meat and a fresh bowl of cut up fruit salad (pineapple, musk melon, honeydew, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, orange segments, pink grapefuit segments) drizzled with a Citrus Vinaigrette is a healthy and refreshing end to a perfect party! This is just what inspired me today, thinking of your party!. Good luck and I'm sure no matter what you come up with, it will be delicious and well appreciated!Www@FoodAQ@Com

how abot a comfort food theme!?!.!.!.i think people would love the simple foods instead of something fancy

heres a recipe for mac and cheese

6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups milk, warm
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Dash salt and freshly ground black pepper
Dash hot sauce
Dash Worcestershire sauce
3 cups shredded Cheddar
1 pound cavatappi pasta, cooked al dente
1 cup crushed potato chips
5 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan, for topping

Heat oven to 350 degrees F!.
Melt 6 tablespoons butter in a large saucepot over medium heat!. Add flour and cook, stirring, for 1 minute!. Whisk in the warmed milk and bring to a boil, continue to whisk constantly!. The mixture will thicken as the heat increases!. Continue to stir while adding
the dry mustard, nutmeg, cayenne, salt, pepper, hot sauce and Worcestershire!. Stir in the 3 cups of Cheddar until it melts!.

Pour the cheese sauce over the noodles and add to a 3 quart casserole dish!.

Sprinkle the chips, bacon and Parmesan on top and bake for 35 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Everyone likes plain home style cooking!. Call it back to the 50s and go for soup, roast meat and roast veggies, greens of some kind, apple pie and cream/icecream!.

My son is a chef, he says this menu walks out of the door!Www@FoodAQ@Com

you could go for tropical rain forest =)

have fruits and nuts and juice! coconut milk, jello/pudding with those cute toothpick umbrellas, a chocolate fountain, and seafood ~

should be awesome-

good luck & have fun!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I LOVE the idea of comfort foods and you can call the dinner, "Comforting the Staff" or "Taking Care of our Staff" something to that sort being they are the ones taking care of the hospital, now it's time that they are being taken care of!. You can even call it, "Comforting those who Comfort everyone else" Something along those lines!. Like it's our turn to take care of you!.

You don't even have to do all comfort foods, but just the thought that it's time for them to be taken care of!. The comfort foods goes with the theme though!

You can serve the normal comfort foods like:

Mac and cheese
Spaghetti and meatballs, or ziti (easier)
for the veggies, broccoli sauteed in olive oil and garlic which is made exactly like it sounds!. You do boil it for one minute in water and then drain the water and then saute it!.
Then you can make chicken parmigiana or just plain chicken breasts, or barbecue chicken which is comfort food
Rice or mashed potatos
a green salad
Rolls
I would definitely do one beef dish
sausage, peppers, and onions

For decorations, just do some things that would make them feel good!. You can get some corsages for the women and boutinnieres for the men, so they are being taken care of and shown that they are the ones being honored!. This is for the hospital to take care of, but you can present the idea to them!. You can also have some Hershey hugs and kisses in glass bowls at each table to let them know they're being "hugged and kissed" etc!.

For favor bags, get white Chinese take out containers and on it put, medical staff first aid comfort kit and then you can fill it with things that they can have to comfort them!. You can even put the hugs and kisses in favor bags for them with some lifesavers, to let them know they are lifesavors!. You can put the hugs and kisses in there to let them know they are appreciated, the lifesavers to let them know they are the lifesavers, a paperclip to let them know that they are the ones that hold the hospital together, (you know those candies that look like a diamond ring, the top is candy, and the bottom is a ring!? you can put that in there and say they are the gems of the hospital)!. You can put a band aid in there to let them know that they really do help others feel better!. You can put a tea bag in there when they just need some time to sit back and relax!. A packet of aspirin when it's all just too much! A rose petal for when they need to stop and smell the roses, you can come up with all different things and put them in there!. I'm sure they'd get a kick out of reading them!.

You can also go to dollar store, kmart, walmart, any toy store and get a doctor's kit with a doctor's bag and some floral foam, use the bag from the doctor's kit as the "vase" for the flowers and make that the centerpiece of the tables!. You can put the floral foam in the bags, and then the flowers and the other things that come in the bags you can have them hang out of the side of the bags!. I'm sure they'd get a kick out of that!.

You can even get ice packs, the ones made out of cotton or rubber and put some water in them and break up some floral foam and put the flowers in them and have the ice packs be the "vases" too and be the centerpieces!. So half the tables will have the dr!.'s bags and the other half will have the ice packs!.

I hope some of these ideas help and that you have a great dinner with the staff!Www@FoodAQ@Com
