Answers:
Theme - Sports Party. You can find lots of sports theme invitiations & colors can be his favorite sports team. Since it's the mid of July just make the theme anything sports, i.e., football, basketball, hockey, etc.

Ask guests to wear their favorite jersey or team shirts/shorts. Set up a basketball court, soccer or volleyball. A fun game is broom hockey. All you need is a few brooms (kids type) or wide plastic tubes (as the hockey stick), a crushed can (puck) and two goal markers.

As for food, make hot dogs, burgers, nacho cheese dip, or a variety of dips & chips. Stock up on ice cream pops or regular ice cream & cones. And have your local bakery make sport theme cupcakes instead of cake. If you don't want buy cokes, use a few big thermos for sweet tea, lemonade, etc.

There's a lot more things I can think of. If interested, shoot me an email :o)

Good Luck!

Have couples "Bunco" party, it's a lot of fun! You can do it indoors or outside. Have a picnic style buffet, in a picnic basket put on different kinds of bread (french rolls, rye, wheat..) let your guests build their own sandwiches. veggies, dip
Or you could do a BBQ, all kind of hot dogs (beef, polish), chili, relishes, different mustard's, all kind of salads. You could have croquet, badminton, volleyball or just set out board games, scrabble, cards, whatever games he might like.

If you have a pool then everyone can go swimming and you can have a BBQ.

Since he is a child at heart have a more mature kids party. He likes gaming, invite friends over for a gaming challenge and provide cheap or gag prizes. Include the women in the challenge to make it more fun. Choose food and or snacks that are his favorite or nostalgic. If he loves moon pies, serve it. Try to conjure up a scene straight from his childhood and recreate it at home. Everyone will love it!!

He's around my age. throw a 90s party. Have games and TV shows from when we were kids. Make guests dress from the 90s. Play 90s music.

Why don't you do a wine tasting? It's inexpensive, different and very fun. It's great for smaller gatherings. Since he's 25 it's time to bring out the adult in him =) For more information you can go to www.wineshopathome.com/dawnmel...

I agree with keeping it fairly simple in the food department. If you go too overboard, you won't be able to enjoy it yourself. :)
Have you ever tried fondue? It can be a lot of fun, especially chocolate! There are all kinds of things you can dip into chocolate or cheese fondue. There are recipes and such for that at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/choc...

If you are looking for a clever type of party favor, my sister recently got personalized chocolate candy bars for my brother-in-laws party. Everyone thought they were great. You can have them custom made or design them yourself. More info. here on that http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/cust...

Hope you have a great time.

Does he like the Guitar Hero? If so, how about a tournament? I heard that on the Guitar Hero website, you can sign up for free banners and promotional gear. Might be fun.

Or how about a Texas Hold 'Em party? You could set up a couple of tables and decorate like a casino theme.

Or how about some outdoor games like bag-o or horseshoes or volleyball?
