Hey i need some ideas?!

Question:

Hey i need some ideas?

can anyone tell me some good tasteing wines and or champhanes for my wedding?

Answers:
Champagnes - how many are at your wedding? My family are not drinkers. We had 70 people at the wedding. What we did was order a case (12 bottles it was much cheaper this way, I can't remember the brand. I do know that expensive does not = better). We told the caterers we wanted one bottle to go to each of the people in the wedding, including one for us, that was 4 bottles. This left 8 bottles that could be used for the toast/ glasses of champagne/ mimosas (we had a brunch after a morning service). We ended up having none left and my husband and I had a bottle to share on our 1st anniversary. All we served was champagne that was alcoholic. There was a full bar in the lobby and anyone that wanted anything else went there and bought it themselves.

As for wine, if you are having and open bar, you would probably want to pick a red, a white and a blush. Then the guest can decide what they want to drink. If you are serving it with the meal, I would think your caterer would offer some suggestions (just make sure they offer you a few with a varied price tag). If the wine choice is up to you, take your menu down to a local store that sells wine, and ask someone there.

To hard to answer on line without info on the food you have as well. SUGGESTION!!!!: take your menu to a wine shop (even Safeway can do this sometimes) and talk to their sommelier. They can totally help with just a glance at your menu as well as offering you a taste test.

Vueve Cliquot is a wonderful champagne...however? If the champagne is simply for your toast? Don't go nuts. Caterers, restaurants and banquet facilities only pour a small amount for the toast and most people don't go back to the champagne once the toast is done. If its for your personal celebration, I highly recommend the above.

As far as wines go, there are so many out there so to recommend without a menu might not be good. If you are looking to please everyone, be sure to have the basic wines available: Red: have merlot, chianti, cabernet. White: Chard, Pinot, Sauvignon Blanc.

As far as "brand names", maybe the event planner, maitre d, or sommelier for the facility can lend you a hand...they generally have a couple of wine selections for you. A regular list, and then the more upscale or refined tastes list.

Good luck and congrats on your upcoming big day!!!
