What are you supposed to do at a teen party?!

Question:

What are you supposed to do at a teen party?

I'm turning sixteen relatively soon and want to throw a party. The problem is this would be my first "boy-girl" party and I have no idea what to do. I don't think I really want a theme, or any weird things like "bobbing for apples". It will probably be at night. Does anyone have ideas on how to keep it going besides playing music and hanging out?

PS Please no "7 minutes in heaven" or drugs things like that because my parents are basically omniscient.

Answers:
Some food and drinks, like punch. How about a chocolate fondue fountain. To tell you the truth hanging out and playing music and some good munchies is all you really need. Do you have a pool? Pool party. Dance contest works great too. Go to the dollar store and buy some prizes.Anyways, Happy Birthday!

make some trash can punch you cant even taste the alchohol. and you will for surely get laid.

Find some games to play. Cranium, pictionary or a DVD game or any electronic games can be fun.

LOL hm why don't you all play some volleyball.... tons of great food and dancing.
twister!?!
haha
as long as the people are great, the party will be great don't worry.

have you heard of the game 'apples to apples'?
no really, BEST GAME EVER, you should check it out they sell it at walmart, target all those places.

and watch movies? but thats a realllly fun game, im in love with it.

Drink... alot

Tough! Guys and girls will want to hook up... it's only natural.

Keep it simple and focus on keeping yourself and your friends out of trouble by:

1. Avoid booze and drugs-don't allow it.
2. Avoid destruction of property-don't allow it
3. ***Start the party midday so that it will end at a decent time and people don't sneak upstairs and get pregnant in your parents room.

***Guys at that age aren't really all that mature so "splish and splash" on the lawn and serve some hot dogs and chips would probably work.

***Also, most will have very few boy-girl party experiences to compare it to so don't stress out.

Ideas from parties I have seen;
Volleyball, pool party, shaving cream fight- everyone gets their own can (only good for pool parties when everyone has on a swimsuit), smores over a fire pit, ping pong, boci ball, music, of coarse. If any of your friends have talents (musical, magic), ask if they would like to perform.
String lights around the outside or wherever it will be to add ambience. Make it festive looking.
Plenty of food, no alcohol.

You could play flash light tag. We did it at my party and it was a lot of fun especially when there isn't a full moon so you really can't see anything or on a cloudy night.

Have a mess party!
Tell everyone come in their bathing suits. Get a bottle of each or some of the following for each guest.
spray shaving cream
Spray string cheese
Silly string
spray whip cream
Have a fight! Spray until your hearts content. After the battle everyone will want wash up so since you probably don't have more than 2 - 3 showers I reccomend having some hoses to wash off. Have lots of towels! Also have lot's of snacks.

Flash light tag. Can't beat it. We still play it as grown ups occasionally.

Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. This might sound silly, but wouldn't it be fun to see your blindfolded friends dizzy and pinning the tail on the wrong 'donkey' ?

Water balloon fight?? My daughter went to a party last weekend where they did this, but the invitation stated to bring extra clothes.

scavenger hunt. I do this for halloween every year, we form teams and spread out over the town, but you could do a neighborhood thing or if you live in the county even better.

Show a movie and make it like mystery science theater where everyone has goofy commentary. Find an old old planet of the apes or dr who or something silly like that.
