What foods to serve at a Labor Day Cookout?!

Question:

What foods to serve at a Labor Day Cookout?

Ok, I recently purchased a home and my block has a block party for Labor Day. I alo purchased a grill but I have NEVER grilled a day in my life!!! HELP!!! What should I girll besides the basic, hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken. Also, is grilling that difficult, I purchased a charcoal grill, a Weber very nice.

Answers:
Go on weber.com they have millions of easy stuff to make on your grill. Usually indirect heat cooking has the best results. Try beercan chicken. All you need is meat, beer, and a buttcrack exposed and the rest takes care of itself.

hotdogs

Grilling is easy, you'll get the hang of it. The taste over charcoal is better but gas is so much easier, in my opinion.

Grill some veggies skewer, with peppers, mushrooms, add some pineapple, etc... etc..

Grill Beer Brats and serve on crusty brat rolls. Very yummy!

Go to allrecipes.com and find some fantatic grilling recipes

Hey, you're about 3 months ahead of the game so you'll be a pro by Labor Day, just get practicing.

Everyone likes the old standbys. Potatoe Salad, pasta salad, cole slaw, corn on the cob. Ice cream cake and watermelon. All easy so you can enjoy your company.

bbq stuff.

Here's what you do. Get yourself some brats from the store. Dump them in a crockpot. Fill the crockpot with beer and onions. Drink the remaining cans of beer.
Cook on low for two hours. Grill for a couple minutes on each side. mmmmmmm

Stuff and season a whole trout or whatever is available fresh, wrap in tinfoil and toss on the BBQ, for about 20 minutes.
Yum

Make grilled shrimp & chicken kabobs, grilled corn on the cob, grilled potato packets wrapped in foil & for a dessert, make grilled peaches drizzled with brown sugar & honey........Charcoal is the way to go, gas is for lazy people who don't enjoy their food!!

apple or berries pie or crumbles
baked beans
corn cob
corn bread
bbq ribs
potato salad
roasted & pulled pork

ribs corn salad

italian sausge ribs corn on cob

If you do chicken,
use apricot jam, lemon juice, oil, and some black pepper ...

do steak and serve it with a garlic-butter sauce with fresh basil

grill pieces of fresh pineapple, plain .... the juices come out as they are grilling and caramellize ..
