Hiring a Bartender?!

Question:

Hiring a Bartender?

I'm interested in hiring a bartender for a private party. Does anyone know how much that costs in total. Meaning to pay the bartender and have all the alcohol provided?

Answers:
The price for stocking the liquor is dependant on many factors. How many guests, quality of the liquor, how the bartender pours, the region in which you live, do you have sufficient barware, how involved will the drinks get, just over ice or blended drinks as well, wine and champagne, beer, and those are just a few factors you need to consider.

There is the cost of the bartender, about $25- $45 per hour for a minimum four-hour shift (not including set up which takes about 1/2 hour).

And do not forget if you are having a party at a recption hall or other public building you may need a liquor permit and need a licensed bartender.

I suggest you contact a caterer, they know how much the average person consumes and can offer you ideas on what to serve depending on the type of people you are hosting. The guys from the factory do not care mush what they drink but those from the office or your church group will be harder to please.
Good luck.

Generally if your having a bartender you provide the drinks and they just servre them. The usually cost around $150 -$200 if your lucky

A story

The bartending bill came to roughly $125 for five hours' work, but the Naums were so pleased they threw in a giant gratuity and handed over $200. "I saw the true value," Sherban said. "We focused on the party."

The hired bartender? "I'll never go back to not having one," Elena said. No longer an extravagance just for the rich, bartending is picking up clients among young professionals, who have discovered it's both affordable and worthwhile. With fees starting at $20 per hour (higher for holidays), bartenders are being hired for engagement celebrations, christenings, housewarmings and "divorce parties." For the young, it's a way to prove that they've graduated from kegs and margarita machines.
