Answers:
If you're doing it at home, there's lots you can do for his age!

You can do the relay races, like the potato sack races, three legged races, the old wheel barrel races, etc!.

Get them to play soccer, etc!.

Pin the tail on the donkey, hot potato, etc!. If you're doing a theme party for him like cars, or pirates, make the potato something related to the theme and make the pin the tail on the donkey, something more like put the eye patch on the pirate!. Ask someone to print out a picture of a pirate for you and blow it up and to cut out eye patches, etc!. Find out what your grandson is into and go with that theme and you can decorate and go with that in the party and decorations!.

You can do balloons and streamers for decorations!.

Set up an ice cream bar!. Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings!. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped creams and the marachino cherries and make them their own sundaes, or you can just give them a scoop of ice cream with the cake, unless you're already doing ice cream cake!.

For the goody bags, just go to the local dollar store and see what's there or like the previous poster mentioned, go to orientaltrading!.com they have SO much you can get for the party for decorations, for the theme, and the goody bags, and they are SO inexpensive! You can't go wrong with them and you can trust ordering from them!

You want to have a lot of structured games and activties, but you can also give them a little bit of free time to run and play!.

If you don't want to do the party at your house, there are plenty of places that do children's parties!.

Local pizza parlors do parties where the kids go and make their own pizzas and they eat or bring home their creations!.

Chuck E Cheese is a GREAT place for kids, they LOVE it there! They play and eat, but I have to warn you, it gets loud! LOL

You can do McDonald's and Burger King, they do parties and a lot of them have play areas!.

Local ice cream shops should do parties too, but I'm not sure what kind of games they offer the children, you'd have to call or go in there and talk to them!.

You can take them bowling, see what kind of package your local alley has for the little ones! They would love that!

I hope some of these ideas help and that your grandson has a great party and a very Happy Birthday!Www@FoodAQ@Com

My oldest is turning six soon!. We don't spend a lot of money on parties so we just have an outdoor party at our house!. Last year we made pizzas!.!.!. Each kid got a blob of pizza dough, some sauce and cheese and fixin's and they made their own pizzas!.

This year we're making hand-churned ice cream and having ice cream shaped cake!. (Link is below!.) You don't have to do too much with kids!. We're going to do an outdoor scavenger hunt (10 pinecones, 3 dandelions, etc!.), a relay race, and maybe a balloon toss!. It doesn't need to be complicated!.

For goodie bags, I do a sheet of stickers, a snack pack of gummy treats, some suckers, dollar store toys, maybe something else like a pack of M&M's and you're good to go!.

The kids don't need to have something extravagant!. They just want to know that you've thought about them and had a party with their friends!.

Good luck and have fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com
