Sweet 16 Dilemma?
My 16th birthday is in 5 days. I've had this thing planned for awhile now, I was renting a party boat for the day and we were going to go out to a lake, party, eat and have fun. Well we just discovered that it's going to be storming that day and had to cancel everything.
I've been waiting for my 16th for forever and while I don't want this HUGE thing, I do want it to be special and memorable. Not only that, but my bestfriend and my cousin are both coming from Texas (I live in Indiana) for my party.
I have about a $300 budget, and I'm not good at all on planning parties, especially with such little time. I could have one here, but my backyard isn't very big, even if it was I don't have any clue on how to decorate it or anything, neither my friends or myself are particularly girly. So I have absolutely no clue on what to do.
If anyone has any ideas, even if it's for a backyard party because I might be able to work it out, I'd appreciate any and all of them so, so, so much.

Ok this is what you could do... Since it was supposed to be a boat party... have the party at your house and do a nautical theme. You could even go as far as getting blow up boats and pools and rafts! it may sound cheesy but since everyone knows your delima they would love the fact that you tried! you could turn your basement into an island! You could even get that blow up aligator from any pool store! And... you could give a lay or boat "skipper" hat to everyone on their way in!
Bottom line is that any theme you have everyone will love. Get your friends together and have a good time with it. You can't go wrong! kids love parties!

rent a pavillian at a park and have a bbq and just hang out there.. hmm or maybe everyone could go out to eat since if its going to be storming you probably don't want to be outside. Otherwise, i'm sorry, i hope it all works out and happy birthday!
I would have a small party/barbq in the backyard with your friends, maybe catch a movies, pedicures and manicures. things like that....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! whatever you do,have a blast and remember your birthday is about being with your friends, not about what you are doing. Have a blast!
what's the point of a sweet 16? how's it different from any other birthday...the only difference that you can drive OMG that's such a big deal right? if fact that sux cause you have to pay insurance and gas money :( If i were you i'd wait two years and plan a big 18th bday part because that's something worth celbrating :D (except for americans who can't drink at 18 LOL sux to be you)
Have some of the same foods you were planning, rent a tent or get a canopy. Plan different games such as limbo, volleyball, or just have a few board games.
