Urgent! I don't have a cake bottom piece, what else can I use to ice/decorate/ birthday cake with?!


Question: Urgent! I don't have a cake bottom piece, what else can I use to ice/decorate/ birthday cake with!?
I baked 13 x 9 cake for my son's birthday this afternoon and realized I don't have a pan/card board type cake bottom to put the cake on!. What can I use to put this cake!? I'm thinking of baking sheet pan but the metal color will show on the edges!.!.!. :(
Should I put wax paper over it!? Please help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can use a thick piece or cardboard or a cutting board!. cover it in alunum foil to hide whatever!. make a few flowers out of your icing and put a few around the cake!.

how about making it a layer cake!.
!? this way it will fit on a dinner plate!.

make a plastic mat out of a large ziploc!. the gallon size will open up to a large sheet and you can trim it down!.

send someone to the dollar store for a plastic tray!. i recently got an entire plastic cake hold for a buck!. it's nice too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Have you tried a paper party store or a store like Party City!?
They have all kinds of trays, plates and platters that you could use and they even sell doilies to cover them with to make it more decorative!.
They're fairly cheap too!

Use the cookie sheet !.!.!.!.!.!. cover with foil for a decorative look !.!.!. then put a few dabs of frosting in the corners and put waxed paper under the cake too (the dabs of frosting will hold the waxed paper to the foil) !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.OR, use the lid of a box (Avon cartons are the perfect size) or a tray with sides!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have used a piece of cardboard to put the cake on or even a large cutting board works great!. I have went to the local grocery store and bought several of their cake boards and put them up for parties !. They usually sell them pretty cheap and it is ready to use!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sure use a cookie sheet!. Spray alittle cooking spray around the edges that show and sprinkle some colored sugar sprinkles on it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yea this happeaned to me 1 time with a samller cake just get so cardboard put the cake on it iceing the cake hide tha edges and ur good 2 good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
