Any Ideas for bridal shower shower games??
I am planning a shower for my soon to be sister- in-law and I want it to be really fun!!!
Answers:
This is fun, print famous peoples names on address labels, attach them to every guests back, and have them mingle with other guests. They have to ask yes and no questions to determine who is on their back. It gets the crowd chatting.
charades
I've thrown 4 bridal showers in the past year and half... The "Timer Game" is the easiest, but there really is no involvement, you set a timer for a few minutes while the bride opens gifts, when the timer goes off, the gift giver wins a prize. You have to watch your crowd.. some guest hate games and end up talking among themselves (it's annoying). The timer game keeps it moving. Other games are Bingo, print up bingo like cards on regular paper (w/o the letters and numbers) have the guests fill in the blocks w/ typical gift items, Then as the bride opens the gifts, the guests cross off whatever they have on their cards, until they have a line or an X what ever
you want. Another popular one is to make up a list of questions about the bride to see who knows her the best. Give each quest the list and pen and have them answer them before the shower really gets going (if you wait to long they get distracted). The questions could be anything from her favorite band, color, food, to how her and the groom met, the proposal, first date, etc. Go over the answers all at once or through out the shower. Let the bride know the questions a head of time, & she can give the answers. You may want to plan a tie breaker question or 2.
You can go on yahoo and search "Bridal shower Finding Mr Right" It's a fun game I've played it, but I can't find it for free online you may have to pay $5 or $6 for it, it's a poem read out loud directing your guests to pass from right to left a gift, it goes around the table, back and forth until you've finished the story, who has it when your done wins. And this is always fun, The maid of honor or the host (you) writes a sentence about the bride and groom, then the paper is passed around the room and each quest writes there own sentence rhyming with the sentence before, have the guest fold the paper up to only show the line above, there's no peeking or reading anything but the sentence directly before yours. At the end the bride reads it aloud. It really is fun!
Good luck and have fun!!
Wedding Dress Designer
The wedding dress game has to be one of the oldest and favorite bridal shower game of all time. Divide the guests into even teams, a good number is 3 to 5 people. Give each group several rolls of toilet paper. Each team will choose someone to be the "bride", then each team just use the toilet paper to create a beautiful wedding dress. Creativity is highly encouraged in this game, create not only the dress but a veil, jewelry, a bouquet, etc. Once everyone has finished have each team model their dress for the bride. The winner is determined by which dress the bride chooses as her favorite.
The Dating Game
For this bridal shower game you need to ask the bride (and groom if possible) questions about themselves while they were dating. A few examples would be "When was your first date?", "Where did you do on our first date?", "Where was your first kiss?", etc, prior to the party. During the shower give each guest pen and paper and ask the questions you have created. Have everyone write their answers down, and once you have read all of the questions have everyone turn in their answers. The person who gets the most number of questions right wins.
Clothes Pin Bingo
Give each of your guests a clothespin to attach to her clothing and wear during the bridal shower. Tell everyone they are not allowed to say the words "wedding", "married", or any other set of keywords you choose for the remainder of the party. If someone hears another guest say one of the forbidden words they get to take a clothespin from that person. The winner of this bridal shower game is the person with the most number of clothespins at the end of the party.
Purse Bingo
Purse Bingo can be a very fun and telling game to play at a bridal shower. The idea is to come up with a list of items that could be found in someone's purse. Include in the list a few typical items, car keys, lipstick, a twenty dollar bill, etc. Then get creative with your list. Include a few items such as a toothbrush, a hotel key, antibacterial wipes, valium, deodorant, etc. Before starting the game pick a number, somewhere between 5 and 10 is usually a good place. The first person to reach that number of matching items wins this hilarious bridal shower game.
Bridal Charades
Bridal Charades is another one of the favorite bridal shower games played today. To play this game divide the guests into two teams and write down a list of things associated to a wedding or marriage. A few ideas you could use are a bride, a groom, the toast, the minister, etc. Each team then selects someone to act out the charade. The team then tries to guess what they are acting out. The teams who guess correctly most wins.
Bridal Pictionary
Bridal Pictionary is very similar to Bridal Charades. To play, write down a list of words associated to wedding. Have each team take turns pulling a random word out of a bag and have a team member draw that word. The team then tries to guess the word. You should set a time limit of a minute or two for each word. The winner of this bridal shower game is the team that guesses the most number of words correctly.
The White Elephant
This is a very fun game to play at your bridal shower. First you will need to get one bridal shower favor for each guest, but you will want to get selection of gifts that range in value. Get several low cost items, a good place to get these types of items is a dollar store. These items should not only be cheap but silly as well. Then get a few medium priced items, this could include bath beads, natural soaps, or decorative soaps. Then finish you gifts with one or two nice gifts such as a bottle of wine or something similar. Wrap all of the gifts in different size and shaped boxes. Wrap some in nice wrapping paper, others in paper bags or newspaper. During the bridal shower deal out a deck of cards, if possible make sure everyone has a few cards. Have a second deck handy and start drawing cards and calling them out. When someone has a matching card have them pick out a gift from either the pile or they can take a gift from another guest. After everyone has a gift, set the timer for 10 minutes and give everyone the opportunity to try to barter and trade their gifts. At the end of the 10 minutes have everyone open their gifts and enjoy the laughs as people realize they were all going after the silliest gift
Bridal Word Scramble
Print out enough copies of this list of scrambled bridal words which relate to weddings, gifts or romance, for you to give one to each of the guests. Give each guest a copy of this list and a pencil. Get them to unscramble as many words as they can, writing the correct answer in the adjacent space, in a set amount of time say ten minutes. The guest who gets the most answers correct is the winner.
Famous Couples
With this game write a list of one half of a famous couple, real life and fictitious, guests try to guess the other half of the couple
For instance the couples could be
Michael Douglas and Katherine Zeta Jones, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Baucall, Popeye and Olive Oyl, George W Bush and Laura, Napoleon and Josephine, Nelson and Lady Hamilton, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, Prince Ranier and Grace Kelley, Homer and Marg Simpson, Al Gore and Tipper, Father Christmas and Mary Christmas; and so forth.
Guest fill out the answers in a note pad the guest with the most correct answers receives a small prize.
On This Day
- this will take a bit of research - Search on the internet to find important events that happened on the same day as the date of the couple's wedding (for example, a famous person's birthday or event in history). Type these up and cut them into slips of paper. Put the slips in balloons, then blow up the balloons with the papers inside. Have every guest choose a balloon and pop it. Go around and announce all of the important events. The person with "The names of the couple and date get married" wins a prize (ex. Jennifer and Todd tie the knot, April 3, 2004).
I Hope these games help or give you a idea of some games that you would like to play .GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS TO THE HAPPY COUPLE.
Try pin the ding dong on a guy - poster.
Or pass the dildo among everyone standing up only using your knees. The first one to drop is out.
I've always been partial to strip poker.
Baby poop in the diaper game.
Cut out of a nice white heavy paper towel little triangles. You'll need them about 3 inches long across the top of the triangle. Get the smallest safety pins you can from your fabric store. In one of the triangles put one little dab of mustard (baby poo). Fold the three corners of the diaper up together and pin it like you would on the front of the baby. Now you'll just need some straight pins to pin one on each guess. Don't even tell them what it's for. When the games start tell everyone to look for the poop. The lucky person with the poop wins the game. You can decorate these any way you like.
You get napkins pink and blue and cut them down real small so you can fold them into little diapers, You put a smear of melted chocolate in one of them (the winner diaper) and add little safety pins. Put them in a basket at the door and let everyone pick a diaper when they walk in the door. The winner with the dirty diaper gets a prize.
have the groom and groomsmen answer questions in advance- at party play trivia game "who said so" they have to guess who gave the answer to what question...one way to find out how well you know your soon to be!
prizes could be - something fab for right answer- naughty nightie, body oils etc. wrong answers pick from Booby prizes- oven mitt, apron, grandma nightie, prep H cream etc. Have guests bring 1 of each prize already gift wrapped so cuts your costs. For those who don't know the wedding party- have board with their pix and a quote for them so they can get a feel by looking at them who said it (the eyes don't lie). then by the time of wedding they'll feel like they DO know them!!! ice breaker at tables
Here are some games you can try.
