I intend to take my fiance to an Italian restaurant, what meals would anyone recommend?i would want to have a romantic dinner.

Answers:
I love stuffed shells, lasagna, monicott and a glass of red wine. Then you end your night with strawberry's and champagne in bed. Then it's time for desert.

Yes italian food is delicious!! My favorite dish is puttanesca =)

i love italian food..... i like their clams with white wine fetti or their seafood with soup & noodles....sorry I don't know exact names, only description.

There are at least three types of Italian cooking. There is Northern Italian cuisine which consists of veal and chicken dishes . Not so much pasta. There is regulat Italian cuisine and its innovative ways toi use pasta as an integral part of the meal and there is Sicilian style cooking.
I am not an expert by any means but I prefer regulat italian cooking. You cant go wrong with a nice chicken or veal dish or perhaps a combination dish where you try different dishes in one plate. Good Luck.

Italian food is wonderful and usually easy to make, so expect some simple foods with not a lot of meat in an Italian restaurant.
They like pasta with different sauces, but if I were you, I'd order a medium sized pizza for us tow to share and some semi sweet Italian wine.
So romantic...

It depends on what type of Italian restaurant you are speaking of. Itaian food varies greatly from region to region within Italy, and much of food that is labeled as Italian here is very much Italian American.

I don't know what to tell you to order, but I can give you some tips.

1. Most good Italian restaurants will have a special every day. The special is the way to go if you like the meat/seafood they are serving because the food is probably really fresh.
2. Stay away from Italian restaurants that serve butter with their bread as opposed to olive oil.
3. Go online and check out the menu & reviews. Generally people will mention what their favorite meal was.
4. Don't be afraid to ask the server what wine would go best with the meal.
5. You'll often find in Italian restaurants they have meals for 2, that's definitely romantic to share a plate.
6. Stay away from anything drenched in red sauce, neither of you want to have to worry about stains.

Generally if I am in a good Italian restaurant I will have whatever their fresh seafood or fish of the day is or their seafood pasta.

Great is a total understatement. Italian food is spectacular, it's always delicious! Mmm! I'm getting hungry thinking about it!

Italian food is exec lent. Don't go to an Italian place that is famous for big portions. You'll be too full after the meal to do anything romantic.
Simple - keep everything simple. Salad with olive oil and vinegar.
Skip the soup. There is nothing romantic in eating soup.
Lasagna - ask the waiter how big the portion is for you may want to split it.
Chew slowly, sip your wine slowly.
A meat or fish dish - nothing smothered in mushrooms, tomato sauce or cheese.
Chew slowly and enjoy your wine.
Ice cream, sherbet or a tiramisu (coffee based desert).
Buon appetito!

get the grilled chicken alfrado or replace it with shrimp.

blah blah blah

It depends on your taste. Italian food uses stronger flavors like oregano and basil to spice and flavor the food. A lot of tomato products as well as parmesian and ricotta cheese are put into the dishes as well and if you like pasta, you'll be in heaven. The Italian people as a whole also use a variety and number of vegetables so not only does this food taste delicious, its a whole lot healthier for you than McDonalds!

Stuffed mushrooms with cheese, spinach, onions and garlic with lemon and basil sauce are good for an appetizer, either puttanesca sauce over angel hair pasta or a triple cheese twelve layer lasagna for entrees are a good choice in my opinion, hand chocolate dipped cannoli's filled with sweetened ricotta cheese and chocolate cream with chunks of chocolate or apple tortes are delicious desserts, and if you like wine, my aunt tried Bellini at Johnny Carinos before it went out of business and loved it. It's peach and raspberry champagne. If you like seafood as well, Italian food offers a number of pasta or chicken dishes with seafood (i.e. shrimp and scallop angel hair with white wine sauce or chicken/ shrimp alfredo)

I hope this helped!

Pennie in vodka cream with veggies.

Hi I am Italian from italy I will try to suggest you something special ...
Usually for romantic occasions seafood is the best especially if accompany with white wine! As seafood dish a good choice would be a mussels soup (zuppa di cozze) in tomato souse or pasta with mussels and tomato (pasta con le cozze). You easily find something like this better in a Sicilian restaurant. Wine is pretty important however.

If you don't like seafood a 'pollo alla cacciatora' it's another good choice: it's chicken cooked with olives, tomato, cappers, onion ... delicius and passional. This should go with red wine instead.

A vegetarian alternative is a delicius 'parmigiana di melenzane', layers of fried slices of eggplant alternated with layers of mozzarella cheese and covered with parmisan, sometimes is not 100% vegetarian and you will find some ham, mince, or slices of boiled egg in it.

'zuppa di cozze' is usually a starter, 'pasta con le cozze' a first course, 'pollo alla cacciatora' a second course, 'parmigiana' a side order or a starter (in Italy it's a main course).

Some dessert would be good too: a lovely 'sorbetto al limone' is pretty light and and the meal with freshness.....

However trust your taste and you feeling and you'll be fine!!!

For a romantic dinner, keep away from long pasta. It's so messy, albeit delicious.
