Mystery Dinner???!

Question:

Mystery Dinner???

I think it sounds like a fun time BUT, I don't want a murder mystery. Can any of you imaginitive people come up with another type of mystery? Any ideas on how to put this gala together. A party for say 10 people! Thanks

Answers:
Have a mystery hunt party. My family does this with birthday,Christmas gifts. You could do it for a dinner party with dessert, bottles of wine or a box of candy for everyone to share as the prize at the last clue.First think up about 10 locations in your house or on your property to hid clues.Or you could limit it to a room or two.Write a piece of paper with each clue and hid them in reverse order of the hunt.As a short example:Freezer in your basement, glovebox of your car, behind the Tv in your living room.First clue would be "this place is very cold, some of the stuff in here is kind of old"everyone has to guess where it could be, and then go to look. When they open the freezer, the next piece of paper in the freezer could say"this tiny storage box is crammed with proof of insurance and catsup packets"(it doesn't have to rhyme). The next clue in the glove box would say "I'm behind an important appliance,I'm a wonder of Japanese science"which should lead people to the TV.You get the idea. You have to plan in reverse and make sure all the clues are in order. You can control where people are going and what they are looking for with your clues, and you can give them hints. My favorite place to hide a big bunch of flowers is in a bathtub with the shower curtain pulled closed.

I guess who stole money type of mystery.

Find something you all are interested in. Then base therime on that. Such has...

A racehorse being stolen
Or a famous landmark being trashed

or just something like that, those are just examples.

Do a Mystery Dinner... Where you code your menu items and people have to figure them out. You can do 3 or 4 courses.

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar mystery

Here is a page with a lot of non-murder mystery ideas:
