Instead of fancy appetizers?!

Question: Instead of fancy appetizers!?
Having my daughter's 16th birthday this weekend!. We've rented a hall, are doing our own cooking, it's not the traditional sweet sixteen, will be very laid back!. Here's my problem!. We've decided not to have appetizers but need to have some sort of munchies - dinner will not be until about an hour after guests arrive!. Is it okay to put a variety of chips out on each table to hold the guests over!? Or does anyone have any alternative suggestions!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

skip the chips- kids eat enough junk food!. do the veggie tray and maybe get a few thin crust pizzas and cut them into bite sized pieces!. I had a party for my mom and the pizzas worked out very well till dinner time, I only had 3 for 30 people and it was enough!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
