Ideas for food for a pumpkin carving party?!

Question:

Ideas for food for a pumpkin carving party?

I'm trying to get some ideas on what to make for a pumpkin carving party i'm hosting this weekend, preferably fall themed. Please if you've had one before, what did you serve?

Answers:
Have a few crock pots set up in different areas of the room. One with warm cider, one with a cheese dip and have bread on the side. Make a chili or chowder in another crock pot. There's your appetizer, drink and meal. Then you can make a big tray of warm apple crisp! These foods will fill your house with amazing aromas!! Have fun!

cupcake pie sandwich pizza apple

try a snack mix that has roasted pumpkin seeds in it.

warm applle cider..(with or without spiced rum!)

Grilled sausages with apples
INGREDIENTS
8 sausages
2 tablespoons butter
2 medium onions, halved and sliced
3 large apples - peeled, cored, and cut into thin wedges
2 tablespoons apple cider or red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Prepare grill for high heat.
With a fork, poke sausages several times. Place in a pot, cover with water, and simmer over medium-high heat until cooked through, about 7 minutes. Remove from heat, and set aside.
Warm butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in onions, and cook until soft and translucent. Stir in apples, vinegar, and brown sugar; cook, stirring gently, until caramelized, about 10 to 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Meanwhile, place sausages on grill (or under broiler), and cook until well browned. Serve on a mound of caramelized apples and onions.

dessert...apple crisp, pear crisp, pumpkin pie....

roast pumpkin seeds in cinnamon and a bit of sugar and salt..its really good, and festive for the holiday. anything roasted and cinnamon-y will do fine. also breads and garlic stuff

Borrow some crock pots and make it a soup party!

Have a "chili dump"--ask everyone to make a batch of chili, bring it over, and dump it together before heating.
Actually, making chili yourself would be great if it's colder that day!
Make sure to provide lots of crackers and some cheese to melt on top!
