You should make a meat and cheese tray!. Along with iced tea (buy it) coffee, soda and juice!.
Or you can buy the pre-sliced meat and cheese for crackers and get a box of Ritz or something like that!.
Spinach dip and onion dip aren't expensive either, just buy crackers!.
Along with that get some mini-muffins!. You can get them by the snack cakes usually!. There is usually blueberry, chocolate chip, banana, etc!. Those are about $250 a box!.
If your'e on a budget, get the drinks, sandwiches or meat and cheese crackers and definately the muffinsWww@FoodAQ@Com

the spinach dip from above is SO GOOD- definitely make that!.
one way I save money when hosting a gathering is to buy all my foods form Aldi- the food is very inexpensive and the same things you would get at the regular grocery store (about half the cost!)!. so do your shopping there first!.
I'd say to do the spinach dip and bread, some cheese and crackers (either sliced cheese or Aldi has these fancy cheese balls to), and a veggie tray with dip!. maybe bake some cookies for something a little sweet!.
for drinks I'd suggest to make a punch- cheaper than soda- heres a refreshing recipe- mix one jug mixed juice of pineapple/orange/banana, one frozen concentrate of OJ, and one 2 liter of ginger ale- serve in a large punch bowl (may have to make it in two smaller batches) and make an ice ring from a jello mold or bundt pan the night before for a pretty look and float it on top!. check out Goodwill for a punch bowl if you don't have one- they always have tons of them for real cheap! you could even pick up some cute appetizer plates form there as well!
please make a good impression and don't just serve chips and soda!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I suggest having something in addition to chips!. This will show your thoughtful, a bit more imagative, and not lazy!. Make the standby meatballs with grape jelly and chili sauce!. If you have a membership to one of the big box stores like Costco, they have a big bag of meatballs that is fairly inexpensive!. Throw everything in a crock pot and you're done!. Don't forget the colored toothpicks for serving!. In addition to soda, you may want to offer flavored iced tea like raspberry iced tea!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Make the SPINACH DIP on the package of Knorr vegetable soup mix, but put the dip into a hollowed out sourdough round (get day-old, if you can); cover with foil & refrigerate overnight!. Serve with crackers or sliced French bread (makes an impressive presentation) !.!.!.!.!.!. Hollow out 1/2 watermelon and refill with melon cubes & strawberries!. Serve with toothpicks !.!.!.!.!. Make a package of brownies from a mix ($1/box) !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. Lemonade, ice tea, a big bottle of chilled white wine (not expensive) -Www@FoodAQ@Com
Crudités!.!.!.it can be expensive if you have it catered, but it's easy to do yourself: cut celery, zucchini, red & yellow bell pepper strips, broccoli florets, baby carrots, and tangy-sweet grape tomatoes and serve alongside ranch and tangy blue cheese dips!. That's all it is! Cheap to do on a budget!.!.!.and classier than chips!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
