Does any one know any good ideas for a 80's party sleepover?!

Question:

Does any one know any good ideas for a 80's party sleepover?

Im throwing a huge sleepover with 17 girls all in the ages 15-16 and we are having a 80's theme what kind of decorations or activities? (were a dnace team)
Any good web sites or some of your ideas?

Answers:
put on cone-shaped bras, like Madonna in Like a Virgin lol
And put some classic 80's music (Michael Jackson, Queen, Madonna, Elton John, George Michael,Millie Vanilli)
Also rent some classic 80's movies

Egoba had some good ideas. If 80's is the theme, then you definitely need the right music, the right movies, and the look.

Since these girls were born in the 1990's, maybe coordinate with them to each bring three albums from their parent's or older sibling's collection. You may be surprised at all the Pat Benatar, Wham, and Madonna albums that turn up, but it could be interesting to ask them to bring more "obscure" songs. Don't forget the Debbie Gibson and Tiffany albums!

For the movies, I would insist that no 80's party would be complete without a showing of "The Breakfast Club" with Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall. A close second would be "Flashdance" with its great soundtrack and cinderella storyline. Third I would include Ferris Bueller's Day Off...still hilarious to this day.

For party games, you could break out the Trivial Pursuit game, have some Rubik's cubes on hand, or have a make-up contest to see who can make themselves look as much as an 80's rock star as possible.

Finally, before the party, you can ask the girls to bring a copy of a family photo and also a picture of something or someone they feel signified the eighties era. You can take those and make a collage which can then be scanned in or photographed. Copies of it can be handed out to the girls after the party so they can all remember it.

you could have everyone dress in 80's fashions, or come as a character from an 80's movie/tv show.

great 80's movies are back to the future, pretty in pink,e.t. and can't buy me love.

music - the go go's, flock of seaguls, lisa lisa and cult jam and depending how cheesy you want to get new kids on the block!

play some 80's trivia games. play parts of 80's songs and see who can guess the songs. and give quotes form 80's movies and see who knows what movie it is from.

here is a web site with 80's info http://www.project80s.com/

good luck!

Tweety Bird was big in those days... right down to the slippers...

For movies, I would recommend "Pretty In Pink" and "Say Anything", and "Valley Girl" - - All three are 80's romantic comedies that end with a great 80's song.

You could have a Valley Girl Speaking contest - Oh-my-god! Totally!

For invitations, buy a can of Aquanet Hairspray, take a digital photograph and export it into your computer. Use it as the background for your invite -- "You're going to need this! It's an Awesome 80's Sleepover!" with the details of the party.

You could have a "guess the big hair" game. Go on line and find photos of famous faces of today from back in the 80's - - maybe Madonna and Halle Barry and Demi Moore or your favorite 40+ year old stars - - print them out and either cut out or put a post it note over their face so only their hair is showing. See who can guess the most of them.

Have an 80's hair contest. See if you can style each other's hair and give a prize for the style that looks the most 80's.

Black rubber bracelets were huge in the 80's and we wore tons of them. Hand them out as favors. (I bet you can find them cheap at orientaltrading.com.)

Have a Rubik's Cube contest. Or, if you have a game system, rent a pac-man or ms. pac-man game and be sure to play the song "Pac-man Fever" while you're having a pac-man playoff.

You could get an 80's compilation CD (borrow one from the library or download on line) and play "Name That Tune". See who can name the most songs.

Or, research famous 80's quotes from movies and the news and type them up with one column for the quote and one column for who said it or where it came from. Set a timer and see who can get the most right in five or ten minutes or so.

Since you're a dance team, you should definately have an 80's dance off. Do you know anyone who can breakdance? You could hire them to come in and teach you all some breakdancing moves. Here's a website with other popular dance moves from the 80's: http://www.inthe80s.com/80sdance.shtml...

Or, watch Flashdance or Footloose - two 80s dancing movies.

For decorations, think neon and metallic. Hang CDs from the ceiling. Maybe you could get or make movie posters from the day to hang around the room. Or make signs with Valley Girl talk on them.

Hungry? How about a Fluffernutter Sandwich? Spread peanut butter on two slices of bread. Drizzle with chocolate syrup; spread with marshmallow creme. Top with remaining bread.

It's been fun trying to come up with 80s ideas. Thanks for asking this question. Have a great sleepover!

let every wear concert t-shirt with really big, long hair
jheri curls wigs and mullets lol but whatever u do have fun :)

The movie "The breakfast club" an 80's classic.
