Question:

Does anyone remember when pop was sold in bottles in the pop machines? lol?

Answers:
Yes. When I was growing up me and my best friend would walk down the gas station and get a bottle of Dr. Pepper every night.

Don't remember how much they cost, but it wasn't much, probably about a quarter. They were so good and cold.

Then we'd collect pop bottles and go turn them in for money for recycling, just like we do cans now.

That was definitely the good old days.

Yep. And if you did it right you could pull out 2 bottles at once.

Yes , for twenty- five cents.......you know a quarter.

Absolutely! They were glass bottles, 12 oz size and they cost 10 cents. And you could take the empty bottle back to the store and get 2 cents refund for it. I guess that ages me huh?

When I was really little the bottle caps had a cork lining in them. We would pry out the lining and use the caps to decorate a little hat called a beanie by putting the metal cap on top and the cork lining underneath and pressing the two back together. The idea was to see how many different types of soda caps you could collect on your beanie.

ya i have one still

Yes! I also remember taking the bottles back to the IGA for returns. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world!

I remember that very well!

I remember buying Coca-Cola for five cents a little bottle, or a dime for a big bottle.

You mean they don't anymore?? hahhahahaa

Yeah = sure I can remember = does that mean I am older than dirt?? teehee

SEW

Yep! And the joy of finding enough emptys on a hot day to be able to get a nice cold Coke! ,

nah.....do you remember "crystal Pepsi"?

OMG! yes, does that tell off on how old I am?!! LOL
I remember the crystal Pepsi too, that was horrific!!

Yepper , had to walk down to Shorty's Gas Station and pay a quarter for one. Well worth the WALK. LOL !! =[: )
