Making 8 dishes for a dinner for 24 guests? What quantities should I make?!

Question:

Making 8 dishes for a dinner for 24 guests? What quantities should I make?

How much food (in weight) does each person consume?

Answers:
Don't try to make too much of each dish to feed all 24 people. What I mean is don't make 8 dishes that will have 24 servings per dishes. That would be equivalent to almost 8 meals for each guest! Maybe take a quick survey of what your guests like to eat and make more of that particular dish. Having more food is always better than not having enough. Make sure there's enough room for dessert afterwards!
Having hosted plenty of dinner parties at my place, I always tend to over buy/over cook and end up with tons of leftovers. I guess a normal person can eat about 1lb of food each? Women...probably less. I'm picturing a pound of sugar and that already seems to be alot to eat. But if you don't mind giving away the leftovers, then feel free to make as much as you want.

CATER OUT . IT WOULD BE EASIER ON YOU AND YOU CAN ENJOY THE COMPANY YOU ARE SERVING

generally 5 to 6 ozs.of meat, 6 to 7 ozs . of starch (potato,rice,fries,etc).. 3 to 4 ozs veggies...per person
