What are some fun party ideas for 12 and 13 year olds?!

Question:

What are some fun party ideas for 12 and 13 year olds?

My daughter is having an "end of school" party Friday night. My husband is a DJ so he will be playing music. We will have a limbo contest and hula hoop contest. What else would be fun to do. The party is from 4-9 pm. What kind of foods should I serve? She is expecting about 15 friends to come. Any ideas?

Answers:
Cool idea! Well, why not go all out with your limbo/hula hoop idea and make it a luau party? You can get luau decorations at dollar stores, including flower leis, those crazy tiki cups with straws, etc. - no need to spend a lot. Simple foods are best - grill hot dogs etc and also grill quartered pineapples - yum and very impressive for kids - and try fruit kabobs. S'mores are always a hit and so is watermelon, it really means summer.

If you can't grill, get the kids to top their own mini pizzas - you can get the shells ready made and set out bowls of toppings, then bake them while they're doing other things.

If you're feeling brave they can top their own ice creams too...

There are new step-type dances the kids are doing that your daughter can fill you in on - they can divide into teams and give points. How about a bit of karaoke? The Beach Boys for the summer theme? Bit of old fashioned Twister? Have fun!

swimming, movies, dance party, pictures to share memories, and people so they can dance with their boyfriends and girlfriends

Hi
Home made mini pizzas are good and kids love it. chunky fruit and veg sticks with different dips are good and healthy too. Girls like jewllery making as well.

Sounds like it would be a good time for a bb-cue....at that age..hamburgers and dogs would satisfy thier needs...u could also have some cheese w/crackers and some chips and dips..i know that might sound unhealthy but u could replace the chips w. different kinds of veggies...or u could have a little of both..If I were u, I would find more fun things for them to do...they will be more interested in that rather than eating..

Serve cupcakes! They're best in any occasion. And do the potatoe sack contest..it looks corny but it's kind of fun.

Disposable cameras for everyone and a craft project, like a memory book or friendship bracelet. As for foods, make it easy finger foods like, chips and salsa, veggies and dip, mini pizzas, chicken strips, etc. Or do a theme like a Luau/Tiki or 80's, with food, music and crafts/games to coordinate.

Some cool food you can serve is colorful Kool-aid it will be very colorful. Kids that age love junk food so maybe you can serve hot dogs, pizza, potato chips, etc. They will love it, you could also have a sleepover with abot five of the guests they would love the idea of an afterparty.

Spa-ish party get some cool nail polish, and let them paint each other's nails. Just have a safe clean covered surface in case of any spills.. Maybe, rent a teen flick...Movie trivia..So watch the movie ahead and make up questions or a movie bingo to play with the movie... The one that gets the most right wins a prize.. Foods....do appitizers mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, fruit salad, egg rolls... make your own sundae's ...
