How to treat amnemia?!
How to treat amnemia?
My sister is suffering.
Answers:
If she drinks tea (iced or hot) with her meals she needs to stop. The tannin in the tea prevents the blood stream from absorbing iron from the food.
Stick with dark green leafy vegetables: i.e. spinach, collard greens.
Beef--not too fatty.
Beans: i.e. navy beans, pinto, (not re-fried beans, these have lost their nutritive value)
If you can try iron enriched fruit drinks. There is a drink called Green Goodness from Bolthouse Farms (available at Wal-mart and some health food stores). It is green and kinda of tastes like green vegetables, but there are several fruit juices in it and it has a sweet aftertaste.

I suffer from anemia also.
same like amnesia. what was the question again?
Make your sister eat fruits and lots of fruits mainly apples!!!
it will definately show results....
iron pills, raisins , beans , lean beef (such as roast beef), all dark green leafy veggies, also your calcium, cant absorb iron with out calcium... stop smoking (if she does) exercize... talk to the docs!!! good luck
iron pills
lots of iron rich foods..like red meat...spinach is loaded with it too
search iron rich foods on google
An iron pill is a good start. Also, increase her intake of leafy green vegetables and red meat.
Anemia? Eat foods rich in iron. Liver for example. The doctor can also give her iron pills if he thinks she needs them.
However, I would not try to treat myself on this one. It is possible to get too much iron.
First of all, your sister should see a doctor.
Now, my cousin had anemia resulting from internal bleeding. Her doctor told her to eat lentils cooked in a cast iron pot. That was all she should eat. The iron in the pot is absorbed by the lentils, and it's generally better to get minerals and vitamins from food instead of pills.
The other benefit of the lentils is that they provide fiber. This is important, because taking iron causes constipation.
Good luck.
She needs to eat plenty of iron rich foods like, Beef Liver, steak, red beets, peanuts, beans, drinking cranberry juice, and go to the doctor to be prescribed an iron supplement, that she must eat food with, or it will make you feel horrible.
Your sister can take a multi-vitamin that is higher in iron, or take iron supplements. but if she takes the iron supplements she also may want to buy a stool softener. iron makes you constipated in high doses. I have suffered with anemia my whole life and have learned all of the tricks to eating right. unfortunately, it's harder on women than men because we have that "monthly" and anemia is a little harder to deal with at that time. everyone else had great suggestions on food items.
anemia? As in lack of Iron (Fe)? They make a tablet called Slow Fe that you can buy over the counter... it is a time release iron pill. Take one daily.
iron pills if you mean anemia. you can buy the generic ones over the counter. no prescription needed
