This is a big undertaking that you've chosen for your first party! 100 people, at an outside venue away from any refrigeration or kitchen facilities is difficult!. You'll need food that can be eaten cold (or outside temp): buckets of fried chicken might be easiest - with coleslaw, bean salad, macaroni salad & fruit salad !.!.!. platters of cookies and just get 1 little cake for your son (the frosting will melt on any other cakes) !.!.!.!. lemonade, iced tea, bottles of water, juice boxes !.!.!.!.!.!.!. Set up a volleyball net; bring 1 or 2 small wading pools (so the toddlers can safely play); beach balls and frisbees !.!.!.!. If you have a place to hang a pinata, that would be good (use hard candy), and have sand pails for the candy, which would also be the favors!.!.!.!.!.!.!. You can even get inflatable beach balls at a dollar store, and write the invitation information on those with felt-tip pen and mail them to people!.!.!.!.!.!.I'd just get 1 or 2 tables for the food, and bring lots of blankets & beach umbrellas (people can bring their own beach chairs)!.!.!.!.!. make sure there's restroom facilities nearby too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

With that many people, and in an outdoor setting, it will be hard to have enough chairs/tables!.

Purchase enough plates and utensils for everyone, plus extra!. Sometimes they get dropped!

Bring some things for people to do - sand pails, frisbees, balls, hula hoops, bubbles - these are all fun!

Have a sand castle building contest!.!.!.maybe give a beach ball to each guest/family as a party favor!.

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is a mistake a lot of people make!. They throw a huge expensive 1st birthday party for their little one and an hour later, Mom or Dad has to bring the tired and cranky child home and then the guest of honor and her/his Mom or Dad miss the rest of the party!. My advise!.!.don't do it!. The child won't remember a thing anyway!. Have a smaller party at home with a few friends and family!.!.if the child gets cranky!.!.his room is right down the hall and the party can go on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am in the same position, find a theme, and go from there!. Make a menu for adults, and for children, such as MacNChesse, Chicken nuggets, snakcs, etc for kids!. Try to make it fun for the adults, and the children!. Have fun, and relax!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Since you are at the beach do a luau theme!. Serve fruit kabobs, ham sandwiches, chips, etc!. Have plenty of pick up food!.!.!.100 people is too many to try to cook for and then transport to the beach!.

Have fun and enjoy the day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

beach ball, sand pail & shovel, floaties, beach umbrellas, ice, paper towels, sunscreen, extra towels, hand sanitizer, toilet paper,Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nothing worse then getting invited to a 1st birthday party for people you hardly know!. 100 people, to a first birthday!? I'd rather get leprosy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
