Fish dont have fingers do they, so why do they call them fish fingers ??!

Question:

Fish dont have fingers do they, so why do they call them fish fingers ??

Answers:
yes, I was swimming the other day of the kent coast, and got a tap on the shoulder from a passing cod. He then proceeded to stick his middle digit and swam off....in other words he gave me the bird, which is odd for a fish.

no they dont silly..they're called tht coz its shaped like long finger like shapes and its made from fish so its called fish fingers!

they don't
they are called fish sticks

Because they eat fingers, so obvious; isn't it?

they're not made out of the fingers of fish...(if fish did have fingers, how small would they be?! not much of a meal thats for sure...or it would take alot of fish's fingers to make one fish finger...)
so they're vaguely shaped like fingers and they call them fish fingers. i think they should call them fish rectangles. yeah. cause they are!

We live in a confusing world my friend.

There's no dog in dog biscuits either. And no horse in horseradish. And apparently Coq Au Vin doesn't refer to a male chicken at the wheel of a transit.

no they dont have fingers but then hot dogs arnt always hot

erm?......cos the made of fish and they look like fingers perhaps?.......yummy...taste nice

cos they look like fingers. if fingers were rectangular and covered in breadcrumbs, without any joints, nails. Hmm.

What? Fish don't have fingers? So what have I been eating??

And ther ARE called fish fingers, not Fish Sticks.

What do you suggest? Fish rectangles?

Fish sticks always sounded gross to me - sticks are hard and probably taste yucky and fish fingers are soft and yummy!

to scare small children and put you off them for life!!

no mako senso....fish only have fins...duh!!

FINGER-food made out of FISH.
