Pirate Party Ideas?!
Pirate Party Ideas?
am having a pirate party for myself as a bit of a laugh as I am turning 17. I am having about 15 friends over. I am looking for some ideas for food, decorations, costumes and games.
I live in Australia so unless you know of items that are easily avalible here, please keep the suggestions general.
I am quite a creative person so I have no problem with making a few decorations. I don't want anything thats extremely expsensive although I dont mind paying a fair amount.
Thanks!

http://www.evite.com/app/party/ideas.do... has all the plans you need to throw a pirate party. Click on the party list. It's there.
Have someone chop off your leg and get a wooden peg for a leg. You can also chop off your and and get a hook.
I threw pirate birthday parties for both my sons when young, but you can adapt this idea: I made a 'pin the tail on the donkey' type game, with an "X" in the middle, and little treasure chests instead of donkey tails.
Along that theme, I made outside clues, and each would lead you to a new place (back door, telephone pole, on top of a rock...) with a new clue. Each clue had a code/letter/clue for where a 'treasure chest' was buried. So you could do a scavanger hunt, or or treasure hunt.Prizes would be candies, inexpensive coins from other countries, little prizes for each guest. Have everyone google pirates and each person take on a pirate personality. There were a couple of female pirates too, Anne Bonnny was one. sounds like a fun theme, happy birthday!
First I would make everyone dress like a pirate, but you would have to be the captain. You would get to wear the cool hat, while your friends wear bandannas. You could use the cheap pirate flags for decorations. You could make up some games like pin the peg-leg on the pirate, and tell pirate jokes like "Why are pirates so mean? Because they Arrrgh!" For food I don't really have any ideas except you could try to find some of those metal beer mugs(I'm sure you know what I mean) and drink whatever you are going to have out of those, and you could scatter a bunch of those chocolate coins all over the table. You know the ones that are wrapped to look like gold coins? It could be your pirate treasure. Sounds like fun
Go to www.woodchest.com for the ultimate pirate party. Have fun and good luck!
This is the ultimate pirate source (based in the states, but they ship overseas. That's the costly part, but the rest is cheap.)

Otherwise, just make yourself some eyepatches and bandanas and people provide their own piratey fun with sounds and such. I would put out cards because that's a classic pirate type game, and you can buy gold chocolate coins in bags for a dollar or so (least, you can out here), for the betting.
