Answers:
Vegetable and Deli Meat Platters. You can make your own and not pay the high end prices. Costco has ready made platters and sheet cakes at low prices.

Well,if you perfer Lunch on then you should bring food like:
Buritos but they got to be good tasting.
Fofo they are good so it has to win.
Candy just buy em then you say that you made it.
Flung it tast very good its a Veitnames food.
Sandwitches make em with Bread on the botom then cheese then ham then you put something good then put bread on the top of it!!!!

You can make a very posh looking Crab Bisque by adding a bit of fake crab meat to canned tomato soup.
Have a salad with spring greens and iceberg lettuce mixed. The spring greens give it a sophisticated look and the iceberg cuts cost.
Sandwiches on rolls, Pita, wraps or a good bakery bread would be a nice accompaniment. You can get slab cake or squares at Costco for dessert. The also have nice tiny tarts. You could put a plate of the squares and tarts on the table, enough for two pieces per person. (assuming that you have round tables) Dust the plate with icing sugar for a bit of style! Often presentation is more important than the food itself, certainly when you are hosting a fashion show! What ways do the fancy restaurants present their meals to make them look artistic?

Alternately a white lasagne with cream sauce and spring veggies(eg: spinach, carrot, green onion, celery) and cheese is a nice hot meal. Serve it with the salad that I suggested and the squares.

Both of these menus have a little style but not a big cost. You will have to do a bit of comparison shopping but you can do an elegant luncheon on a budget!

fried chicken baked beans mashed potatoes

for appetizers: rice crackers are super cheap spread them with cream cheese & put a tiny sprig of parsely on each one. or use ritz crackers put a thin slice of cheddar cheese & a thin slice of garlic suasage & a bread & butter pickle on them. veggie trays are good-- put a big bowl of salad dressing or veggie dip in the center. Meat trays--roll up slices of roast beef, ham, etc. put a bowl of pretzels or bread sticks on every table.
everyone enjoys pickle trays and sandwhich trays-- egg salad sandwiches are always a big favorite
potato salad, macaroni salad are super cheap to make & you can make alot for little money
clam chowder, stews, hearty soups made from scratch are inexpensive.
coffe, tea, softdrinks
cookie trays, assorted dainty trays, vanilla ice cream
It sounds like a fun function

Sandwiches sliced small, chips, dip, salad(large bowl),dressings, fruit bowl, relish tray for the salad. If they are hearty eaters do a potato salad and a pasta with a little meat in it.If not then the sandwiches will be fine. Then set cookies, coffee, tea and water out to drink.Have a great fashion show......
