How do I prepare a romantic dinner?!

Question:

How do I prepare a romantic dinner?

It's for my girlfriend.
It's our 1 year anniversary:)

Answers:
Romantic dinners are really easy. It is a matter of lighting and the right foods.

Set your table with real china if you have it. If not, the nicest you have. Serve wine in wine glasses. Have flowers and candles on the table that has some sort of cloth on it. In a pinch a sheet can be a nice table cloth.

Try something like this recipe. It is quick, easy and will show that you took the time to care.

Pork Tenderloin with Red Wine Sauce

Hormel Pork Tenderloin
1 large onion, sliced
seasonings
Celery Powder
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Sea Salt
Black Pepper
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 c. chicken stock
1 c. red wine

Season the meat
In a skillet, heat the olive oil and brown the tenderloin.
Add the onions and cook until soft, Keep turning the tenderloin.
Add the chicken broth and red wine and simmer for 45 minutes.
Remove the tenderloin and cover to keep hot.
turn the heat on the skillet to a medium high setting and stir constantly until the liquid reduces to a nice sauce consistency.
Cut the tenderloin into medallions and serve the sauce over the top.

Serve with a salad, baked potato and a lot of love.

With love.

Prepare something you are good at and confident making. This is not the time to try a souffle or a tricky seafood dish. Even if it's grilled hcicken, you must be confident about it to be able to be romantic, too!

Include something chocolate! Or melt chocoalte and y'all dip fruits and cookies into it for dessert.

Candles! Gotta have them! Pick one color, use plain glass holders (check the dollar store for an assortment) and mix/match votives, tea lights, tapers, and pillars.

get your mum to make it!!!! you will be too excited!

u should have a candlelight dinner. Ladies always like candles.

Order the food from the restaurant and just set the table nicely.

By the time one marinates a chicken, peel the veges, cook the dinner and clean the utensils, I think the spark of the romance will go down the drain.

So conserve your energy, order a take away, light a candle and feel the romance in the air.

look for a venue which overlooks a lake or the ocean.

candle lights... violins... blue tulips... and a photoslide made by you, viewed from your ipod. =)

Make this! It's called "you won't be sinlge for long" pasta.

Granted you'e not single, but it's a great dish all the same. Serve with a nice salad (buy one of the prewashed bagged ones for simplicity) and get a good vinigrette.

Dessert
1 tub cool whip
6 tblsp peanut butter
Nilla wafers or chocolate cookie wafers

Thaw cool whip, add peanut butter (mix with electric beater). Place cookies in the bottom of a paper muffin cup and place in a muffin pan. Spoon cool whip mix in muffin cup and freeze. Drizzle with a pinch of chocolate sauce (chocolate milk syrup will do). It looks great and so simple.

These are easy recipes that will look great and no matter what or how it turns out, she will love it. Happy 1st anniversary!! Mine is coming up in a couple weeks and I am making this dessert for my boyfriend!

Call her favorite restaurant and make reservations.

I offer this suggestion based on a personal experience. My now ex once did prepare a lovely and romantic dinner at home. Linen tablecloth and napkins, wine, dessert, candles, everything. And it did lead into a verrrry romantic evening together.

But guess who got stuck cleaning everything up the next day?!?!

I'm only half serious about complaining. After all the preparation and love he provided, I was happy to be the morning maid.

Otherwise, prepare her favorite meal, add candles and wine, and you should be in good shape.

well you figure out your girl see me i am happy with a 5.00 pizza candels all over soft music or even him attempting to cook or bake i dont find it romantic when he takes you out for a meal that he really but no thought behind make it fun an sweet an somthing you both can enjoy

so...you've been going out with this girl for a year. then you should know her pretty well. some girls don't like being taken to restuarants because there's no thought in it. because when you cook something, there's usually a bit more love.
still...some people don't like to cook or can't cook. so i would simply ask the girl what she wants to do for the anniversary. i like picnics at the beach. it's not as formal. and what if the girl doesn't like fancy dinners?
so see, you're the one that knows her best. it's not always about the dinner. what is it that will make her know that you truly love her?
there's no point asking all of us people. because you're the only one that knows what she loves about you.

The secret to romantic is the Mood.Get the real dishes out, glass glasses,a candle, nice table cloth, napkins,a rose in a vase, and food.It can be meatloaf and potatoes. She will see the mood first, the food served on a nice plate will do it for her.I would say order her favorite food and serve it after you drink some wine by candle lite. The present should always come before the meal, then eat.Hope this helps......

For the menu, make sure to choose something that you feel confident about making. Don’t go too over your head. Also, steer clear of extremely greasy foods, as they may only be a hindrance when you and your sweetie want to hold hands. Choose foods that both of you would like, and they don’t have to be foods with fancy French names and such. Also, make chocolates. For recipes, I suggest going to allrecipes.com. I swear by it whenever I need a recipe. They have a search engine, the layout is gorgeous, a huge variety of recipes, the site is organized, and they provide pictures, tips, ratings, and recommendations, even fully planned out menus! Now, the décor is extremely impt as well. Valentine's Day is one day when you can go "all out" with special touches. How about helium-filled balloons in red, pink, and white, tied to a railing or floating above the dining table? You can even curl the ribbons tied to the balloons for a special touch Candles are a must. Light a forest of red candles, or any candle you may find for that matter. Try to vary them in size. If you are choosing fragrant candles, make sure the fragrance is warm and welcoming, like vanilla, and shouldn’t overpower the room with its scent. You may want to consider purchasing a candle holder. They don’t have to cost tons, just get a simple holder. You may want to sprinkle glass stones around the bases of the candles and around the table, as they catch the flames of the candles. For a centerpiece, go simple yet romantic. You can buy an expensive arrangement or an impressive dozen long-stemmed roses from a florist. Fresh flowers are very romantic, especially roses or pastel-colored carnations. If that's out of your budget, you can (and should) still enjoy the beauty of flowers in your home, especially on this day. With a bunch of flowers from the market, you can try making your own arrangement. Or you can gather together a collection of small bud vases or martini glasses and put one simple flower stem and greens in each. Then cluster them in the center of the table, set one on a bedside table, place one on each step on a stairway, line them along the mantle, or place one in the powder room. If you don’t want to do that, if you have a small, clear glass vase, you can buy or pick a few long-stemmed fresh flowers. Another option, if you don’t have vases, is to, purchase a small potted plant with pretty flowers. Tie a pretty bow with ribbon around the pot. Next, place a bottle of wine or sparkling cider beside it. Place a box of fancy chocolates next to the centerpiece as well, or a plate of homemade chocolates or chocolate covered strawberries. Sprinkle fragrant rose petals about the room. Buy them in a bag, at the market and use their petals, or check with the florists around town, see if they have any rose petals that they discard and might be willing to give you for also placing on the tables. A word of caution here: do NOT get flower petals on the floor where they could be stepped on or on a chair where someone will sit. The color from some flowers can permanently stain fabrics and carpet. For the tablecloth, you can drape yards pf sheer fabric on the table, making sure they skim the floor. If you don’t have that, find a crisp, white tablecloth of any size. Make sure the tablecloth drapes to the floor. If you do not have a white tablecloth, grab a white sheet from the linen closet. It may be necessary to use two tablecloths or sheets, or one of each. The goal is to make the tablecloth reach the floor all the way around the table. The next thing to do is find pretty napkins. The napkins can be any color you wish, as long as the napkins match. Fold the napkins into thirds and lay across the top plates. (If you are feeling especially crafty, search on the internet for ways to fold napkins. There are many simple ways to fold napkins to make them look fabulous.) Use napkin rings, or tie each napkin with a pretty ribbon, forming a bow on top. Stick a single flower stem under each ribbon. You can also fold the napkins into pretty shapes (again, look on the internet) and stick them in the wine glasses. Create a romantic atmosphere with music wafting through the room. Dim the lights or turn them off! Be sure to light candles everywhere you can think of -- on side tables, at each place setting at the table, on window sills, lining the stairs, clustered in the center of the table. You can also take square pieces of paper and write romantic notes, quotes, or poems in them, and fold them into origami, like cranes. Place them around the table and on her plate. Ask your girlfriend to unfold them and read them out loud. Don’t go over board though. 4 or 5 notes are plenty. Remember, quality, not quantity. Try to make your notes or sayings heart felt, not to sappy. Create a romantic atmosphere with music wafting through the room. Dim the lights or turn them off! Be sure to light candles everywhere you can think of - on side tables, at each place setting at the table, on window sills, lining the stairs, clustered in the center of the table. Find confetti heart shapes and sprinkle them about the table. You can make DIY personalized coaster. You can out pictures, sayings, poems, or quotes on printer paper. Type them up on the computer, and add clip art. For pictures of you and your sweetie together, upload the photos on the computer and print them out on printer paper. Coat the designs on both sides with clear Con-Tact paper and cut them out to your desired shape. To take it one step further, glue the designs on a corkboard cut to match the shape. Make sure the coaster can actually hold a glass. Also, you can take hershey kisses and spell out messages on the table with them. Conversation hearts are also nice. Next, is the drink décor. Choose wine glasses that are simple yet tasteful. For edible swizzle sticks,, finely slice one end of a celery stick, then soak it in ice water for about 15 min- a fanned out fringe should develop. For fruit skewers that can be used as swizzle sticks, place fruits segments or currants on a skewer. Bruised lemon grass stalks; lavender or rosemary stems can also be used. Place fruit slices on the rim of a glass of skewer small pieces of food on toothpicks and balance these across the tops of glasses. Experiment w/ herbs and pared citrus rind. For a fruits puree drizzle, that adds a magnificent striped effect, pour fruits puree down the insides of the sides of the glass before adding the drink. For ice cubes, there are 2 kinds. For flower and petal ones, choose flowers that will be attractive even when the ice melts. Choose rose petals, carnation pinks, or borage flowers. Put the petals in the tray; add water, and then freeze. For fruit cubes, place raspberries or other small fruits in an ice cube tray and add water. For sugar rimmed glasses, moisten the rim of a glass w/ water, dip it into grated lemon or lime rind, and then into sugar of confectioner’s sugar. Also, be sure to be sitting next to each other during the dinner. You can also bake the desserts together, or order pizza by a fireplace or campfire and roast marshmallows.

I would just prepare or order her favorite food and turn off all of the phones, then you would have to figure out the decorations yourself. Go with something unexpected and creative though.

the fact that you remembered it and did something , is a rockin good start.

just hit the local fancy restraunt, and get her some rocks....
