Answers:
For your daughter you can do:

Fun and games:

Relay races, potato sack races, three legged races, wheel barrel races, etc!.

Get some inflatable beach balls and set up a small volleyball net and let them play volleyball and badmitten!.

Get a kid's golf set or bocce ball and let them play that in the yard!.

Simon Says
Hot potato
Musical Chairs
Twister
Pinata
Charades
Any other games that are her favorite

Set up an ice cream bar!. Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings!. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and cherries and let them make their own sundaes!. You can get the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store!.

For food, have her favorite!. If she loves bbq, have hamburgers and hot dogs!. If she loves tacos, do a taco bar, if she loves pizza, do that!. Have her favorite food and do snacks and chips with it!.

There's also a game where you pass a ball or an orange, but everyone stands in a circle with their hands behind their backs or at their side and they have to pass it with ONLY their chins! If they drop it, they're out of the game!. The winner is the last person or the last 2 people standing!. You go around the circle passing the ball/orange with just their chins, NO hands allowed and the kids DO have a lot of fun and laughs with this game!

You can also do a spa party for your daughter!. You can ask a friend to come help you and then have her friends come and pamper them!. Just make sure they wear flip flops, so they don't ruin their pedicures!. You can do their hair, make-up, manicures, and pedicures and then hang up a white sheet as a backdrop for pictures and get some props like hats, boas, sunglasses, etc, for them to pose with!. Think of the fun they'll have posing with the props and each other and taking pictures and the great pictures you'll have from the party with them posing! You can also get each girl a tiara and they can pose in that!. Take before and after pictures!.

You can then go to the crafts store and get those blank frames that have to be decorated and have each child decorate a frame and take it home and they can put their favorite picture from the party in it!.

Then do her favorite food, an ice cream bar, cake, presents, etc!.

You can take her to Chuck E Cheese which is something that both your children would like!. Your 6 year old may be a little too old for that now, but I'm sure she would still have fun there!.

You can do a party at a miniature golf place and that's something everybody can do!

What about a pizzeria!? You can do parties there where the kids are given dough and toppings and they make their own pizzas and then they get to eat them! All age groups can do that if you really want to combine birthdays!.

There are gym places you can go to that organize play with lots of tunnels and play things to climb and things to do!. My friend has done for my goddaughter and both the older and younger kids LOVED it and they provided the food and everything, she did bring the cake, but that was her own choice, the place did offer, but she knewn the cake she wanted to bring!. You can do something like that where the kids can run and play!.

When you say you did a party at the Bristol zoo, are you meaning Bristol CT!? If so, my goddaughter had a party there! If so, the gym place is in CT and there are a few places like that in CT that you can go and have the kids run around and play and the people there structure the play time and make it fun for them and the kids LOVE it!

You can do a bowling party, you can do it for both or just for your daughter or son!. They usually have them for all age groups!.

You can do a picnic in the park!. Bring your childrens' favorite food, drinks, snacks, and friends along with some outdoor games!. Like the relay races, frisbee, let them play kickball, baseball, soccer, etc and if you can find one with a swing set, even better! The kids will have a lot of fun and the adults will have fun being outdoors in the fresh air!.

You can do a party at Build-a-Bear for your daughter!. I'm sure her and her friends would LOVE doing something like that! Being able to put together and dress their own bears and then take them home!. It would probably cost the same as any other party once you add in favors and everything else, and in this case, the bear is the favor, and you can see what their package deals are!. I'm sure she would LOVE to do that with her friends!.

You can take her to the American Girl place!. Tell her to pick one friend or just go down there with you and spend a day at the American Girl Cafe, if she's into it!. It would be an awesome surprise for her and she would LOVE it there if she's into that!. I doubt you'd do her party there being it's in the City, but it would be a great b'day surprise for her with the family!.

For your son you can do most of these same parties with him!. You can do theme parties at home like wild west, pirates, or if he has a favorite character you can base the party on that and play games and have food, cake, and drinks!.

You can make the games toward the theme, like if it's pirates, make it put the eye patch on the pirate instead of pin the tail on the donkey (just print out a picture of the pirate, blow it up, then print out another, blow that one up and make copies and cut out the eye patches)!. Then you can do hot potato to fit the theme, same with musical chairs, etc!. Whatever theme you go with, make the game fit it!. If the theme is wild west, make musical chairs be musical horses, then you can do pin the mustache on the reward poster!.

You can also do the picnic in the park for your son, bowling, miniature golf, pizza making, etc!. There's so much out there that they can both do!.

Honestly, I would keep their birthdays separate!. It's more special that way!. It's letting them be their own person and celebrating them as people in their own special way, I know it's not always easy cost wise, but to a child it can mean so much to have their very own party, especially if you've had joint parties before!. The older your daughter gets, the more she's going to want and need her own parties with her own friends, she's an older girl and he's a younger boy, they're very different!.

I hope some of these ideas help and that your son and daughter have great parties whether it's alone or together and that they both have very Happy Birthdays!Www@FoodAQ@Com

now that your daughter is 6 perhaps she would like to have her own party with her little friends from school now instead of with her baby brother
what kind of little girl is she!? would a princess party appeal to her, or is she more of a little disco girl, high school musical perhaps, a teddy bears picnic!? they all bring their teddies and have blankets outside!?
as for your wee boy, 3 year old boys love ANYTHING vaguely boyish, pirates is popular, easy to dress up for, and paint faces etc, and dont really need entertaining just supervising, especially if you have a garden for them to play out in,
i dont have any difinitive siggestions just thought they would like seperate parties nowWww@FoodAQ@Com

6 and 3 are difficult ages to combine, if they enjoy craft, you could try separate parties painting ceramic items that are later fired for use!. Your children can compare the results at home, but it will stop the young ones feeling inadequate from the older ones criticism of their artistic efforts!.!.!.
Try googling: ceramic painting parties for children
this gives details of lots of firms (UK) which do this and you may find one near you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How about a water park them!? You can go from swimsuits and water guns, water balloons to big water slides and pools to water laden obstacle courses!. Have mermaids decorating cupcakes, a sand pit where they dig for different buried "treasures" , use sea shells for craft projects!. They can be bought by the bag and glued onto anything or make jewelry out of them!. Have a great time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
