Inexpensive catering ideas for baby's 1st B-day?!

Question:

Inexpensive catering ideas for baby's 1st B-day?

My Amira is turning one. I'm throwing a small party, maybe 20 people or so, and I'd like some ideas of inexpensive, kid friendly foods to cater. Maybe even some recipes.

Answers:
Who doesn't live cheese, talk to your pizza place, have them prepare several dishes, pastas, salads, etc. The work is done for you and a lot less stress, than mommie has to deal with, enjoy the rest, without the hassel. Pick up so cute little dishes, nice linens and flowers and you have an instant party.

hmm. talk to local (and cheap) restaurants to see if they cater. i suggest chik fil a. yeah i know it sounds really corny but the chicken you get is really good and i doubt that little kids are going to want food that is sophiscated. ive been to tons of parties where chik fil a has catered and it has been really, really good. the best advice i can give you is to ask around town and maybe even talk to some of the guests to get some of their input. good luck!

My son used to love this. Take a bannana and cut in length wise downt the center. Spread to peanut butter (don't use peter pan or great value due to the salmonella outbreak) and then put the two sides together. Then you can cut them into small enough peices for them to be able to pick up with their little fingers. They will love it....you could even dip one side in a little chocolate! Mmmm that's making me hungry!

This is a delicious peanut butter and chocolate fudge. There is also white chocolate which adds a lovely vanilla sweetness. Serve this to your holiday guests and be merry?

1 pound white chocolate
1 pound semisweet chocolate, melted
1 1/3 cups crunchy peanut butter
DIRECTIONS
Line a 10x15 inch pan with parchment. Set aside.
In the top of a double boiler set over simmering (not boiling) water, heat white chocolate and peanut butter. Stir constantly until white chocolate and peanut butter melts.
Spread onto prepared pan. Pour melted semi-sweet chocolate over top and swirl through with a knife, to create a marble pattern. Chill until firm. Cut into 1 /2 x 1" pieces.

Kids love hot dogs, and french fries, mashed potatoes and corn. Chicken legs and strips, and mac and cheese, too.
For easy as well as cheap, let Kentucky Fried cater.
Check out restarants in the area. We have one that has an Italian/American menu. They do a huge carry out business. Pasta, chicken, salad, anything on the menu, they will put it in foil pans for carry out. Places like Applebee's do that, too.
For kid friendly web sites, try Campbell's Soup and Kraft foods.
Wrap hot dogs in canned biscuits for pigs in a blanket.
Try pasta, some simple shells and spagetti sauce for the kids, something a little more sophisticated for the adults, like shrimp alfedo. Everybody likes garlic bread, and a tray of veggies with dip available will appeal to both age groups. Ice cream and cake is easy, if you buy the ice cream in the little cups, and order the cake, dessert is done.
Hope this helps.
