Ideas for a 50th birthday party?!

Question:

Ideas for a 50th birthday party?

My mom and I are throwing a 50th birthday party for my dad. Of course it is Over the Hill. We are trying to think of fun food ideas and some sort of game maybe.

Answers:
Well here are some of my ideas that I have seen at parties celebrating someone's 50th birthday.

The cake should be something that will make everyone laugh and make your dad remember how old he is! I would get a picture of him when he was little, a teen, adult and now! All four pics on the cake and make sure that it's his favorite cake of all times.

Also the decorations are pretty simple, they have Happy 50th pretty much any and everywhere.

If you want to go with a theme make sure it's something that your dad loves. Like if he enjoyed a trip to Hawaii make it a Hawaii theme. Something that will make him remember the past and look forward to the future.

Also a collage is good. Or something that shows him growing up and the things that he accomplished. For example pictures from the day he was a baby to an award he got when he was in highschool, til the day he met your mom, the day they got married and so on.....Dates are very important in this but it turns out looking great and I'm sure you will get some tears coming out of everyone when they see it.

I hope everything turns out good!

Here is a great website with a ton of good 50th party ideas:

Hope that helps! :)

Make your father feel special by reminding him all the great events that happened with you and your mother. Buy his favorite cake and surprise him-make sure you keep it in the fridge or freezer in a place he wouldn't look in! =). Invite his friends and your family, make sure you buy a cake enough for everyone!
P.S.-don't really go over board by spending lots of money, it's really the thought that counts and the love for him.

Ice cold beer, good dutch pretzles, and a stripper...that's what I want for my 50th. Only 10 more years to wait! LOL.
