I need help planning a 17 year olds brithday party?!
ok my best frined is turning 17
and shee loves monkeys and the color pink its the summer time soo it will be in the back yard and were gonna have a pool party

What about a safari theme!.!. you could incorporate the monkeys into that one!. Look on the site www!.celebrationideasonline!.com and click "get creative"!. there is a great favor idea of photo mugs!.!. but you could make a collage of monkeys and add a logo with the birthday girls name etc!.!. and everyone can drink out of them at the party!.!. they are plastic so not worry about breaking by the pool!. also this site has an idea for making your own t-shirts!.!.you could come up with a cool logo using monkey clip art and some kind of slogan about the party theme!.!.and make them for everyone!. Make the theme, Monkeying Around with Fun and Games! Here's what you can do:
Being the party's in the backyard get some small and medium stuffed monkeys and hide them around the party, not where she won't find them, but where people will point them out and she will eventually see them!. Like in tree limbs, around the pool area, on a table leg, etc!. You can get self adhesive velcro in the sewing aisle of any craft store and velcro their hands together to keep them in place!. She would LOVE that being she loves Monkeys!. You can get the little beanie baby ones and then for a gift go to Build-A-Bear and make one up for her!.
You can then do the party colors in pink!. Pink and white balloons clustered around the party, streamers, tablecloths, napkins, etc!. Then you can do her cake in pink and accent it in white and then ask the bakery to put a monkey on it! Any bakery can do that and even you can get a toy monkey and put it on there!. This way you've not incorporated her favorite color into the party with the pink balloons and decorations!.
You can do some lounge chairs and waterproof cushions around the pool!.
Get an inflatable boat and fill it with ice and bottle water and drinks and juice and float it in the pool, it will look really cool and be there whenever anyone needs a drink!. Just warn your guests that the caps WILL break the filter and they need to put them back in the boat or WAY off to the side of the pool where they won't accidentally get kicked in!. If you can get an inflatable monkey, which I'm sure they have one somewhere put him in the boat like he's steering it around the pool! She will LOVE that!
You can then set up a volleyball net and play volleyball and badmitten!. Have a little stuffed monkey holding onto the net!
Do relay races, potato sack races, three legged races, etc!.
Get an inflatable kiddie pool and fill it with water or mud and break into 2 teams and have a tug of war, the losing team ends up in the pool and has to be hosed off!! You don't want them in the pool all muddy, it WILL mess up the water and take days to clear up, so you HAVE to hose them off you can make that part of losing!
Have a pie eating contest, but instead of pie, fill the tins with whipped cream and whoever finishes first, wins!
You can set up an ice cream bar and do chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream, with some toppings!. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and marachino cherries, and have everyone make their own sundaes!. You can go to the dollar store and get the tall plastic sundae glasses or get the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store!.
For food, do whatever is her favorite!. There's no sense in following a theme of food that she may not like if her favorite food is bbq, do hamburgers and hot dogs, if her favorite's pizza do that if she likes tacos, do a taco bar! Whatever her favorite food is, go with that and also remember to do lots of snacks, chips, and drinks!. Pink Lemonade, Iced Tea, soda, and water, etc!.
