Basic answer is food for the hunger of the stomach, that is, feeding yourself. Food for entertainment is parties, celebrations, festivals etc., in which food is given to the guests who come to attend the functions.

There is a lot of difference between these two.Later being indicates the state of luxury where as Former being explains the phenomenon of basic need.

Food for Hunger: Eating a twinkie while you stand in front of the cupboard.

Food for Entertaining: Preparing a tray of beautiful and delicious hors deouvres for a party.

we have the capability to eat in hunger even though it doesnot tasty but viceversa is not true for entertaining

We need the basic food groups to satisfy hunger including breads, cereals, milk, meats and vegetables, this keeps us from being hungry.
We get a need to crunch foods sometimes and some people have a 'sweet tooth' usually this is food we want after we have had our regular meals. Snacking is a form of entertainment because it relieves boredom.
