well i am going to an american dinner and was wondering what is a typical american dinner!? what kind of food they serve!. its a family/friend dinner just want to knowWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I guess a typical american dinner is something like either mashed potatoes or mac n' cheese with usually mixed veggies (or a single veg!. green beans, peas, corn, carrots) and a type of meat (chicken, pork chops, etc)Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Comfort Foods" are high on my list of family favorites!. Casseroles such as chicken and dumplings or chicken pot pie!. Macaroni and cheese, Yankee pot roast with carrots and potatoes is another stick-to-your-ribs type of meal!. Most are served with some type of bread, dinner rolls with butter, a small side salad and don't forget to save room for dessert: apple pie, or Jell-O!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it's casual, they might serve hamburgers or cheeseburgers or BBQ chicken with a side dish and a vegetable!. The main dish will probably be a meat, and there will probably be a vegetable!. Since it is summertime, depending on where you are, they may also serve fruit, or a fruit salad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Thats a very difficult questions!. I don't ther is!. I mean there are stereotypical ones but i think in this day and age there is no standard!. its more luck of the draw!. plus people generally do something different/special when they invite a guest!. Just go with an open mind and enjoy (but let them know in advanced if your a vegan or something)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd say more than likely beef (hamburgers, brisket!.!.)or roasted turkey!. Probably pasta and green beans or broccoli!. If it's a fancy dinner, then clam chowder, steak or lobster, with green beans!. These are the most popular food to my knowledge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Southern style:
Ribs or chicken, Mashed potatoes, roasted corn - pie for dessert and Iced tea

East Coast:
Yankee Pot-roast, dinner rolls and chocolate cake/coffee

West Coast:
Grilled Tuna, fresh green salad with vinaigrette dressing - Sangria and fruit salad

Mid-West:
Meatloaf, baked potato, green salad and coconut cake with coffee

Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com
