Is a 5oz filet mignon plus vegetables and potatoes a large enough main course?!

Question:

Is a 5oz filet mignon plus vegetables and potatoes a large enough main course?

I am planning a party menu and trying to keep costs within budget. I could serve a larger cut of steak but I think people would prefer the filet. Is 5oz too small? I could go with a 10oz Delmonico or Prime Rib but I know that they are very fatty. There will be a starter and dessert too. I would hate it if people still felt hungry.

Answers:
A 5oz cut of filet mignon is quite common on restaraunt menus and, with the starter, sides, and desert should make all but the most gluttonous guest feel satisfied.

I think that is tons of food. If you are still worried though, offer some rolls or bread with the meal. Bread is a good filler.

It depends on the appetite of the diner, but 4 ozs. is the "definition" of a steak serving. Personally, I'm a pig and would go for more beef. In fact you're making me hungry.

Sounds perfect.

For a cheap, yet tastey dessert, I like to put a scoop of Breyer's vanilla ice cream in martini glasses, use a chocoalate sauce and sprinkle it with fresh raspberries. It looks awesome, tastes delicious and is very cheap.

you're menu sound lovely.
it is certainly plenty, even for a big eater.
have fun!!!

Sounds perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
