no chocolate, (my BF's allergic), nothing that requires seperating eggs and no pies or tarts.

Answers:
bananas foster. a little tricky, but delicious and well worth the trouble. traditionally served in new orleans. this amount will serve 2 people. i prefer to serve over vanilla ice cream. enjoy!

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon banana liqueur
2 under ripe bananas, sliced in half lengthwise
1/4 cup dark rum
1/2 teaspoon finely grated orange zest

Melt butter in a 10-inch heavy skillet over low heat. Add brown sugar, allspice and nutmeg and stir until sugar dissolves. Add banana liqueur and bring sauce to simmer. Add bananas and cook for 1 minute on each side, carefully spooning sauce over bananas as they are cooking. Remove bananas from pan to a serving dish. Bring sauce to a simmer and carefully add the rum. If the sauce is very hot, the alcohol will flame on its own. If not, using stick flame, carefully ignite and continue cooking until flame dies out, approximately 1 to 2 minutes. If sauce is too thin, cook for 1 to 2 minutes until it is syrupy in consistency. Add orange zest and stir to combine. Immediately spoon the sauce over bananas and serve. Serve with waffles, crepes, or ice cream.

these should get you started. if you were more specific i could find you some more ideas.

tiramisu, there is cocoa powder on the top to garnish but you really don't need the garnish

Hi:

You could try some crepes. They are really easy to make, and can look really spectacular and crepes can serve as a basis for lots of things. Check out the Epicurious website for recipes, and maybe you'll get some ideas there. I just took a peek, and there were lots of recipes for crepes.

A favorite of my spouse's is strawberries, whipped cream and either angel food cake or pound cake. You could probably use raspberries in as an alternate to the strawberries, and that might be very tasty.

I'd also try to think of some Oscar winning movies and what possible food items may have been shown to maybe use for your dessert. That might be fun, too.

Hope this helps, and gives you some ideas.

Actually I just made a creamy french dessert called "Couer a la Creme" and it turned out absolutely wonderful. Delishly light and creamy and with a raspberry sauce to die for. I got it off the Food Network website as it was something I saw Ina Garten make on TV.

No eggs...no pies, no tarts, no chocolate....check it out. Also as a tip....you can buy vanilla beans online at a bunch of places and not pay the terrible grocery store price of like 15 bucks for 2. I buy them on ebay all the time from reputable sellers only.

Lastly when I was preparing for this dessert I got a little worried that I couldn't find the appropriate dish to place the cream in. You need something with holes on the bottom to drain the liquid (OH and use cheese cloth definately NOT paper towels). I looked for weeks with a ceramic dish with holes on the bottom and didn't find one....I ended up using a nicer metal colander of mine and it still turned out lovely...and it was delish! Everyone loved it...young to old.

Good luck!

No pies or tarts? No chocolate? No separation of eggs????? What is the world coming to anyway???? Ok, so the boyfriend is allergic to chocolate, but not the eggs or milk? You can make oatmeal raisin cookies and dip half of each cookie in white chocolate, for some of them, add a swirl or two of milk chocolate (not the one's he's going to be eating mind you). They look elegant and can be held in one's hand. You can also make miniature cheesecake squares and dip them in nuts or white chocolate as well. Or you can serve a mousse like dessert in martini glasses for a classy look. Here's one of my favorite fillings that can be used as a parfait as well:

1 can Eagle Brand Milk
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs mixed with 1/2 cube butter (melted)
1 container heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp almond extract
1 can cherry or raspberry pie filling

Blend lemon juice and milk until thickened. Whip cream and add extracts. Fold into milk mixture. In your glasses layer as follows:
crumbs, milk mixture, berries. End with berries and top with whipped cream. Elegant and yummy!

I'm not really sure of the name of this recipe but it is very good and semi healthy. You'll need:

Store bought angel food cake
Blueberries
Strawberries
Whipped cream in a tub.

You start by cutting the angel food cake into 1 inch cubes. You can make them larger or smaller if you like. Put 1/3 of the cubes in the bottom of a deep bowl. Add a layer of whipped cream and add some of the strawberries and blueberries. Add another layer of the angel food cake, then the whipped cream and berries. Add the remaining cake, add a layer of whipped cream and then top with the berries. Chill in the fridge for a half hour or so and then serve. Very simple and it's very yummy. And since the angel food cake is low fat and the berries are good for you, it's healthy. And as long as you use fat free whipped cream you'll be good to go. And nobody will ever know the difference.

In the recipe that I make I crumble up a heath bar to add on top, but since your bf is allergic to chocolate I'm sure you could find something else to spice it up with, like some more berries or a different type of fruit or candy, it's really up to you.

I hope you have a good time at your party.
